This sums up most of our outings :)
Haha. So it sounds like if I do something stupid, nobody will even notice.
+1 on a truly helpful group of hangers.
I doubt many of us have been hanging so long that we can't remember those first few times out where a little help was needed or at least would have been appreciated.
Now if it's really worth making fun of, be sure to smile in the pictures. :D
Well this certainly sounds like it's shaping up to be a good weekend, and getting lost is my super power! Well that and tripping over air. But that's a story for later >.<
So how's the terrain? I had ankle surgery in June, and this will be my first real hike in months and, sweet mercy, do I need to get the hell out of the house! I'm up and pretty mobile, doing short mile or so day hikes, but terrain, sadly, is going to be my hard limit here.
Terrain is very easy going at the LST. Flat and smooth.
Mostly flat with some sudden downs then ups in the creek crossings. Some have bridges, most do not. Other changes in elevation are gradual. Reports are that all of the trail west of 149 is clear. There was a prescribed burn out there in April, so most of the understory will be new growth.
Awesome, sounds sweet and easy. ****, I'm really looking forward to this now!
except when we have all marched along talking and got lost....er....strayed from the trail...er....lost map contact (orienteer term...) Then there are bushes to be whacked, creeks and dry gullies to conquer...
"there's not supposed to be a road here..........."
