I had the same problem with one of my DLs. The issue wasn't the sewing, it was the whipping and larks head i used to attach the whoopie... straightened that out, and the problem went away.

The Walmart in Harrisburg pa has about 15 yards of pink digital camouflage non ripstop nylon or polyester. $1.50 per yard.
