3 weeks from now the hotdogs will be a roasting on the open fire as friends old and new gather round.
80 miles? I'd take my lightest 11' options
My older quilt suspensions were set for a 10' hammock. I took 1' of bungee, tied it into a loop, then attached that loop onto the existing suspension with an sbiner. Worked!
The prize raffle is ON
Welp. a reflective line that is also Spliceable would be unique. However; zing-it is way more stronger than needed for tarps (other than tarp ridgelines). So strong in fact that it may hold while...
This could be great!
Dang.... now i must begin saving for new tarp lines.
Puppies are fun!
I stumbled on a great book, "Perfect Pet or Perfect Pest". Excellent guidance for any puppy owner, imho.
Looking forward to seeing everyone!
I heard a rumor there might even be a prize raffle, including some titanium!
No real need for a double layer. Unless you expect to stuff insulation or a pad/SPE between layers
Permetherin will stop bugs from below.
UQ will too.
Some folks say more comfort using double...
Nailed it! Yes, you did!
Maybe start a thread?
If it's popular enough it will eventually be a sticky, or a subforum maybe.
30° hang angle places the least strain on your walls.
... those forces increase quickly when angles are too steep or too shallow
A few extra stands may be needed folks, as some sites loose trees year to year; and others have few to begin with.
Yes, test your insulation where you can easily bail to the vehicle (or add more under-insulation in the middle of the night).
Best of luck! You've made a good tarp purchase and your 'temporary'...
One more month to go !!!
Now your friends can hang with the wayKewl kids ;)
Jacksrbetter.com usually has high quality lighter tarps in stock - silnylon or silpoly is good. Cuben is lighter but you may not have enough time for one of those to arrive.

Just do yourselves a favor and not only setup and teardown at least a dozen times before you head out; but also, make sure your first few...
It's a foot hammock.
Hahaha. Corrected, thanks!

For me that is about 18" for a bridge hammock and around 24" for my 11' gathered ends.
I'm really enjoying the history you folks are posting here. So far, everyone mentioned was (and still is) part of my learning curve - since spring 2012. Somehow i missed youngblood though I've ...
It is probably going to work but leave your hammock too low to the ground. There may be a way to diy some height extenders. Or, just make a turtlelady or turtledog stand. Hemmeck makes a real...
It's only a problem if you're Trying to quit
Mills river could sure use a good DIY hammock gear maker.
Try an 11" hammock from Dutchware
Mine slipped... until i rethreaded them correctly. Now, no slippage.

Longtime no see doodad. Welcome aboard!
Nice! Maybe I'll bring a NY stripp r too
Yep, go for it. Cause its temporary. ..
But plan to replace it soon.
Paracord not only stretches but also soaks up And retains water, unlike zingit, lashit, spear no tangle and z-line.
Simple is good silvr!
Thanks for the description.
You're right. Lotso folks adding all sorts of thingies i dont need to their tarps.
Other than usually using a 2piece tarp ridgeline...Same...
If youre going to use biners...
Just buy the camp nanos or the eldridge brand equivalent. No reason to buy a lesser-rated, Heavier, biner imho.
For tarp hardware check dutchware ridgelines.
For tarp guylines
Z-line from zpacks
Speer no tangle from tree to tree
Or lashit or zingit from various vendors

A 14' Brazilian, cotton, is the most comfy gathered end hammock i own.
