This is just the 'tip of the iceberg'. I go on backpacking trips to a different area in the Uintas several times every year.
It was forecasted to snow. Fortunately, we only got a few Hail storms on Sunday, otherwise it was clear.
Yes. I picked it up at a local military surplus store. It was designed to go over a military cot.
Two friends and I went up, for the first time to this location. The total distance was around 14 miles. We got up to the trailhead around 8pm on Friday night and hiked in a bit. Saturday we hiked...

I fixed the glitch.
I'm thinking of going up to white pine Lake or elsewhere in LCC on Sunday early afternoon and head back out around 8am Monday morning. Odd time, but that's how my schedule works out this week. PM me.
You know it! I let someone borrow it and they never returned it and conveniently forgot that I let them borrow it. I figured spending jail time wasn't worth it. By that time, AAFES quit selling them...
I had a green one also, in the 90's while at Ft. Bragg.
It has been a long time since I posted anything, but not since I slept in my hammock. This was my first time up here. The hike is 3 miles and 2,000' in elevation gain. I stayed at the lower lake...
I like the closer distance to hang. At times it's a little challenge to find the right distance with how dense the trees are at times. I like being able to see out in front of you. I also imagine you...
Thank you and Merry Christmas!!!
Count me in!!!
I think I finally got it right!!!
Would love to.
Hello....from Northern Utah
Check out REI, they have all of the HH on clearance (at least where i live). Exped and Asym $50 off. I don't remember about the other model.
Nice pants. One size too small for me.
Huntsville is a beautiful place, I took my family on a drive through there today. I did my wood badge training in February at Camp Kiesel. Good luck on the claustrophobia issue. I made a WBBB clone...
Picked up some new gaiters online for 20% off and heavyweight thermal bottoms clearances for 30% off.
Glad you enjoyed it.
Keepin it real
In fact. One TH, so many possibilities.

Seems I forgot to post this TR from my last weeks trip to the Uintas. The trip was 9 miles long and we passed over 25 lakes. Pretty sweet!!! I forgot my camera, so these are all my friends...
+1 for diving off of stuff. I have a couple more trips planned with some cliff diving involved.
It was cold at first, be we quickly acclimated to it. After our hike out, we wished we could have jumped right back in :D
Worked like a charm. Still going strong.
Thanks bloomgorge

For the third week in a row I had an overnight backpacking trip that started at the Crystal Lake Trail Head. This time Garbonza went with me. We left around 4pm and got to the TH around 6:15pm. There...
My pleasure. How'd the trip go?
So many hikes, so little time.
My friend Trent and I went up to the Uintas on Thursday afternoon. We had no real plans other than go wherever we wanted to. We knew we were going to start at the Crystal Lake TH and hike up to Wall...
Now that is Slick!!!
Check these out. A little pricey, but hanging in sandy and snowy areas, these are the best. I use the MSR ground stakes in the same manner.

Bryce was our first trip three years ago. Now we are trying to figure out how we can out do this trip.
For the past three years, me and some friends get together for what we call Mancation. We have been planning this trip for a year and we were not disappointed.
There was me, Mark, Tim (Zertus...
Hello Zertus213 and I both live in Clinton, Utah. We've been hanging for a couple of years now.
Just added myself and Zertus213. Great idea.
Hey Shug, what did you do to modify your sleeping bag? I have a -40 degree, 900 fill bag I want to modify, but am not ready to make it into tq or uq.
I use this app...well worth the money. I still print one out as a backup.
Great trip report!!!
Well done!!!

If I agree with JJ, is that considered political? BTW I completely agree.....and I have some very strong opinions about many things and I served in the U.S. Army as well...yet I come here to talk...
