Have the superfly and the maccat deluxe and really like both. While the Boy Scout in me wants the doors to be prepared for anything, I have yet to use them. I know there's always a complaint against...
12trysomething covered it all, in my opinion. I will say that I have the exact same setup and love it. The CRL is great because you can set it up quickly and then adjust the tarp as needed.
Thanks for the prompt responses, gentlemen! I'm using the TTTG ring hammock suspension, gmc. Paul, thanks for the explanation. That's what I've been doing, so it's nice to have the reaffirmation!
Anyone else encounter this problem? I've tried a couple of different tree huggers, and the hammock holds...until I sit down on it. Then it gently takes me to the ground. I've "solved the problem so...
I'll just second latriper that I'd spring for new river long if you're not counting grams. So much simpler and more comfortable than fiddling with a pad in addition to the quilt. May be a bit more...
Ditto. 20s was very comfy.
Bad news, gang, but I'm not gonna make it after all. Really hate to miss it, but I didn't realize we were having out of town guests that weekend. Although a Georgian, I was excited to buy my way into...
Good call. The jarbridge is a great quilt; I'm sure you'll like it. Enjoy, and be sure to follow up with a review when you get it.
Grrr, almost responded the other day but got aggravated typing on my phone! I will say that Paul @ AHE is very responsive and will certainly change your order if you email him (I know from...
Have both the jarbridge and new river and would go full length NR if I could have only one. It's just more comfortable to lay in the hammock without the pad under your legs. Down the road if you feel...
I'll take it!
I'll take the other.
I do not need this at all, but I will take it because I hear great things and this is such a great price. Let me know what you need from me via PM, mountainhanger, and thanks.
Yes I have, and yes it is, though I don't know that they have any official hammock policy. I've hung there multiple times, and the staff is very friendly. Definitely tour the fort if you've never...
Missed last year and have been MIA from the forum in general, but I'm getting back on the wagon with this event! Had a great time at the second annual and really look forward to checking out the many...
I'd live to do this but don't think my schedule will allow, darn it!! Always wanted to visit Helen and love the mountains in the fall! Maybe next year unless this thing turns into an early December...
Being a jarbridge owner, I'm going to recommend that, of course. Compact, light, and easy to use. And it's cheap! How can you go wrong?! I hear good things about Leighlo, but i think AHE gives the...
If you like hammocking already, you'll certainly love the bird. As to Florida hang, just keep your eye out for the hang in the hammock outing forum and jump on board!
Just wanted to add that, because of the generosity of Dutch and the other donating vendors (e.g. Blind Horse Knives, Wilderness Logics, Tato, Eno, Diaz Tools, Frogg Toggs, etc.), we were able to...
Just won a pair of Dutch clips at the SC Fall Sprawl and wanted to thank you, Dutch, for donating them and a bunch of other toys for the raffle! Tried to win your new titanium clips, but gladly...
Just got my Jarbridge out for the SC Fall Sprawl, and it was everything I've come to expect from AHE - simple and effective. I was worried about shoulder slip on my WBBB from others' posts about 3/4...
We just had a set of these raffled off at the SC Fall Sprawl and, as I recall, a certain Gunner76 ended up making his wish come true...
I am very jealous, as I had to "settle" for the regular...
Just want to add my thanks to Rev for putting together an outstanding hang and to everyone who attended for being so friendly and welcoming! Great turnout at an awesome location. Missed the Friday...
Ditto. Tomorrow noonish, I hope!
Looks like I've gotta work late tomorrow, so the Bobsons are coming Saturday morning!! Really stoked for this raffle!
It looks like we Bobsons may be the last to arrive 'cause we've gotta work the full day (you slackers!), so please save us a couple of spots!! 😜
Unavailable because tapatalk doesn't honor the minimum post requirement.
I like white Russians, and I am bringing an extra Eno Mod setup that someone can use. Still no idea what food I'm bringing, but I'm bringing something. Definitely up for Saturday BBQ. Might have to...
We will bring something. Not sure what, yet, but something!
Wow, that's awful, Rev! My condolences; what a way to spend your labor day weekend. Had no idea y'all were getting that kind of rain in Charleston. Definitely let us know if there's anything we...
Dan0mite, I'm bringing a spare Eno dbl along (and I'm sure others are bringing extra hammocks, as well) in case you want to test some other hammocks before buying a second. You are welcome to use it...
Must have Burrow. Wife won't be happy. PM inbound!
This raffle is going to be awesome. Sadly, I have a really big head, too, Rev, so it's not looking good for me on the Real Brazil, but I'm definitely looking forward to all of the other items! ...
Is it wrong of me to wish for cold so I can test out my new underquilts?
Sorry, I felt like our enthusiasm lagged of late, and I wanted to enliven the thread a bit. 2 weeks (and 2 days)!
Thanks for your thoughts, SaabZombie! I just ordered one myself via the sale and am happy to hear that you had no difficulties with the WBBB. A few members' comments have me worried about left...
I recommend the ASR from Arrowhead Equipment. Very light yet durable. Use it on my Eno.
Ok, Paul just sent me shipping info on my new Jarbridge, so I'm going to be a bit presumptuous and update my profile info in advance... :-)
I imagine the footbox of the WBBB would take pressure off of your ankle, but before you go and buy a second (fairly expensive) hammock, it would probably behoove you to go to a local hang where you...
Agreed on the tides, Riverpirate! I almost mentioned that in my post because there is quite a distance b/w high and low tides, but we made sure to go above the high tide mark. Rodloos, as to trees,...
Just a quick update to say that I kayaked out to Little Tybee (a very brief and easy paddle) and camped quite comfortably on the last weekend in June before the sweltering summer heat set it. Found...
Never geocached before, but my wife and I are game to try!
You've ensnared me yet again, Paul! Jarbridge ordered.
Gotta second this one, it's perfect. Don't know that the copyright is expired yet, but, if so, this is my choice. I might adjust to Pick-a-nik Hammocks, but otherwise good to go.
Gracias, oldgringo! Mesh bag it is.
My New River Memorial Weekend Special (Long) arrived Saturday, and it looks great! Not sure I'll really get a chance to use it until the fall down here in South Georgia, but I had to take advantage...
I did the jacks r better setup: continuous loops, Dutch biners to whoopies that are larks headed to my tree straps and attached via Dutch clips. Sounds cumbersome, but it has some practical...
Welcome from South Georgia! I have Enos and highly recommend getting an adjustable ridgeline to drastically improve comfort. arrowhead Equipment makes a great one for about $14 if you're not a DIYer.
We can always do one of the islands in the fall. Let me know when you get your hammock, and we can plan something. FYI, there's a South Carolina group hang being organized by REV in the trips forum...
GC, I too just joined the flock with a 1.1 dbl, although I went the impatient (and very lucky) route of buying used from HobieCat! When're we South Georgians gonna get together and fly our birds?
BUMP. C'mon fellow Georgians (and nearby South Carolinians and Floridians)! There've gotta be some ideas out here. For one thing, there are the Georgia barrier islands, e.g. Little Tybee,...
