I work at Quantico, and they do not black out cell reception. There are dead spots though, even for radio, it was not too long ago that FM would be fuzzy in parts of 95 around QT.

Nothing new at this time, still working on packaging hammock and tarp and deploying them the best way for backpacking. This trip will give me a great opportunity to see how others hang up their gear.

I have the HH ultralite with upgraded tarp, a larger one. Last outing had heavy rains and not a drop on hammock or what was inside. Very comfortable too.
Harpers Ferry is closer to me and an easy drive over the mtns. would like to go in september, but if not good for college bounds later in August is fine .
I can do Secena creek Wa. are their many trails to follow. Can you set it up for late September or october? I'd like to meet up with the Va members. Might even get my son to go around that time frame.
I'd be interested in going out if at all possible, just need planning time.
