Welcome to the forum. There are quite a few members from the upstate. I'm just around the corner in Easley.
I've owned both tarps andwhile you can't go wrong with either, I kept the Edge over the Tadpole for the exact reasons hutzelbein states.
In my case, Dutch didn't offer a direct solution to my issue but said that he appreciated the feed back and will be making future changes to the speed hook.
Edit: Dutch offered to make it...
Will do. Thanks
I am experiencing a similar issue. I am noticing significant wear on the continuous loops after one nights use on from the hook side. I polished the inside of the hole where the lead runs thru...
I got to use my Tarpworms this past weekend with 20mph winds. The worms worked great! Quick and easy with no slippage at all. Thanks for another great product Dutch!!!
I use a pink shock cord lanyard around my toggle and when I roll up my strap, I stuff it in the lanyard. Holds it together like a rubberband. That way the tree strap and toggle are held together in...
Welcome to the forum! I'm just right up the road from you, in Easley.
Mine packs separately. I have a small silnylon stuff sack for it, in case it's wet.
I've found a CC pad and loose fitting heavy fleece socks seem to work very well. I use Acorn socks
I got to use my hammock anchors this past weekend and they worked wonderfully. Thanks!
Awesome. I just placed an order. Can't wait to try them out!
Look for a Kelly cosmic down 20. They can be found for around $120 and weigh less than 3lbs. 550 down fill and packs relatively small.
Before my quilt, I used it down to low 30's with no...
I've had great results with Lawson glowire. Plus you can't beat the tracers
My brother and I will be in the area fishing on the chattooga this weekend, maybe we'll stop by.
Night Grid Camo. That one is mine! :-)

Welcome. Another Easley hanger here!
My Dream Hammock Roaming Gnome!
I use a 3'x3' piece of tyvek groundcloth under my hammock. I keep the majority of my stuff that I might need at night on it. No chance of it getting wet. Also, I can stand on it and not get my feet...

I use the green glowire from Lawson's linked above. Works great and tracers really pop.
Are the marmot pants new?
Awesome! Glad it worked out for you.
In my experience at Burrell's, most of the rowdy "unofficial" campsites(which I've been a part of in my younger years lol) are car camping sites on the GA side. I have never had an issue at the...
+1 on Burrell's Ford. You could always park at the bridge and hike along the Chattooga River. There are quite a few camping spots up stream near the bridge
Oh man, Pinchin is bad enough going down. I imagine only a mastochist would want to go up it.
Most definitely an underquilt
I have a cosmic down 20 regular and use a STS medium event compression bag with a lot of spare room. I would bet that you could get a slightly larger bag to fit in there as well.
Welcome to the forum. Fellow upstater here. I'm from Easley.

Great trip report. I love the FTH
Hello, from Easley!
Like stated above, many trails aren't well marked and can be hard to follow at times. Plus depending on which route you take, you can expect lots of scrambling over rocks and fallen trees.
Hello from a fellow Upstate Carolinian. I'm from Easley.
I'd take a L shirt, couple stickers and a cap.
Any chance on a long sleeve shirt?
The tadpole is a great tarp. I've been extremely pleased with mine.
Hello and Welcome!
Yes, I believe they did. I was able to order one last night for $33 at 11:50pm EST. And when I checked earlier this morning they were back up to $79
Thanks. I just purchased one for a lightweight warmer weather bag
+1 for the Tadpole. I have one and it's a great all around tarp
Linvillegorge.net is a wonderful resource and the forum members are very helpful.
