I too have the Claytor JH the 1st thing I did is swap out the webbing for the ring / buckle set up.

You might want to consider getting a bigger tarp depending...

I've just been playing with my Claytor and wondered if anyone has done this, instead of the cord through the channel just put a carabiner through it (to save on fabric wear and tear) then a short...

I was going more or less the same route but just doubling the 5mm cord i've got so leaving the webbing out i'm trying to have as few joints as possible.

Do you think there might be an issue with the cord cutting through the channel? Looks like pretty thin stuff. Just a thought.

I'm going through the same thing myself, i've got a Claytor, the rings (thank you MRPrez:D), webbing, and some fairly nice dyneema cord, I was thinking of replacing the stock webbing with the dyneema...

I've been looking round on the tinterweb for some rings to convert my new Claytor when I get it but I can't find anything. I've done searches for belay rings, descending rings, forged steel rings,...

Aparently one of the best things to wear to keep you warmer is ....ahem....a pair of pantyhose, it has been said that the British Army during the Falklands conflict wore these under thier uniforms...

Less clothing won't work IMHO, it has to be NO clothing, but hey, no problem - we all have different things that work for us and not for others, but it deffo works for me, that's all i'm saying.

Sleeping naked is definatley warmer than with layers on. You only have to ask yourself about how UQ's and sleeping bags...
