If like me you have trouble finding that 30 degree angle (and have an Android device) I've just found an angle measurer for free on the Play Store, the one I'm using is called "Leveler (level tool)"...
Hi there,
Just got one myself after my Claytor was stolen, i'm in the uk and they're a fair bit cheaper so decided on taking the plunge.
I must say that I prefer it to the Claytor Jungle, I was...
Sorry if this has been covered but due to a recent break in and my camping gear going, i've had to replace my hammock and I didn't like the way my ring were always attatched to my hammocks end, so...
Hello and welcome to the forums,
I too have the Claytor JH the 1st thing I did is swap out the webbing for the ring / buckle set up.
You might want to consider getting a bigger tarp depending...
Hi,
I'm making some skins for my Claytor JH at the weekend and although i've found the sizes on Jeffs page I want to know if they'll fit ok?
I'm not putting the tarp in as well as i want to be...

Ah yes just another product not available in the uk :cursing:
It's always the same - you find something you'd like and sure as eggs are eggs you can get it no problem in the states, but just try...
Where do you get the kits?, can't say i've ever seen em.

I've just been playing with my Claytor and wondered if anyone has done this, instead of the cord through the channel just put a carabiner through it (to save on fabric wear and tear) then a short...
I was going more or less the same route but just doubling the 5mm cord i've got so leaving the webbing out i'm trying to have as few joints as possible.
rdm
I like the look of the 2nd option, thanks for the pics.
Do you think there might be an issue with the cord cutting through the channel? Looks like pretty thin stuff. Just a thought.

I'm going through the same thing myself, i've got a Claytor, the rings (thank you MRPrez:D), webbing, and some fairly nice dyneema cord, I was thinking of replacing the stock webbing with the dyneema...
Thanks to all for the help, but good news, MrPrez has come up trumps and is sending me some. What a nice guy, thank you.:D:D:D

Thanks for that, I thought that'd be best, I suppose I want wanted someone else to confirm it.
Thanks a lot,
rdm
Ah well - Thanks for the offer, suppose i'll have to keep looking.
cheers anyway,
rdm
Well if you fancy getting another and posting them over that would be great ;)

No longer available on that one and the next one wants $65 shipping :scared: and the 3rd doesn't have ship to the UK (even though theres an option for it)
Any more ideas of what I could...
I've been looking round on the tinterweb for some rings to convert my new Claytor when I get it but I can't find anything. I've done searches for belay rings, descending rings, forged steel rings,...
Aparently one of the best things to wear to keep you warmer is ....ahem....a pair of pantyhose, it has been said that the British Army during the Falklands conflict wore these under thier uniforms...
Less clothing won't work IMHO, it has to be NO clothing, but hey, no problem - we all have different things that work for us and not for others, but it deffo works for me, that's all i'm saying.
...
Yeah he must have missed the post, not to worry, but I think we all know what he'd go for - after all the Claytor's CAMO:D:D:D

I've been reading through some of these posts and can hardly believe it.
Sleeping naked is definatley warmer than with layers on. You only have to ask yourself about how UQ's and sleeping bags...
Hi there,
I know you don't know me but i've read so many of your posts it's like i do!!
The thing is that I need a new hammock (couldn't get on with the HH Safari) and i know you have both...
Well it was a nice day today so I thought I’d take my new no-net (that I was actually just going to use as a support for a pad on my Safari) for a bit of a test run to see how it went together and to...
You ought to change the name of this site to LightningHammockAnswers.net, talk about fast replys, thank you all, it's as I thought but just thought i'd ask the question.
Thanks again,
rdm
I know this is probably a bit of a pointless question (as most people will probably say whatever feels right?) but in a HH, Safari if that makes a difference, do you lay with your feet to the left or...
Do it like Ray. No worries www.youtube.com/watch?hl=en-GB&v=Mw3lL-ofBcE
You've obviously never been on a trip with my mate, i would have thought the sound he makes would have scared anything away but not this time:( talk about snore;)
rdm has been added:cool:
Has anyone got any stories of people / animals come calling whilst your hanging during the night??
Just wondering what i'd do. I once had something eat a shoe and carry it off when i found it the...
You could use something like this this don't about the weight but it can't be too bad and should be a little kinder to your UQ
hth,
rdm
Hmmm thought about it but the no net is as long as the safari, maybe it'd work, might have to shorten it slightly, i'll give it a go in the morning to see how it all lies together. What about the...
Yeah, be handy if I was in the states but i'm in the uk, plus I think i might still end up fight with the pad mid-night.
Hello to all,
I've got a HH Safari and want to add a pocket for a pad, (i've read to many problems about putting them inside only to have a wrestling match half way through the night:eek:), i've...
