Maybe try adding a Ridgeline to your hammock, thus eliminating the need to hang excess items from your tarp

just wondering what everyone is using for the length on their ridge lines, i cant recall my length but i noticed this weekend, that the ends of the hammock were protruding out from under my tadpole....
if your looking for something more like two or so hours from you head towards San Angelo and the state park there, if memory serves right its allot of mesquite but i think it would be manageable....

For me at least, it seems the closer to the 30 degree angle on your suspension the more slack there is in the ridgeline. The reason being that it is having to support less of the weight load
