I use red nail paint and slather multiple coatings on the top ends. Still loose a few but I find more than I loose so a win, I guess?

Indeed, I’ll make that effort if I knew an onsen and a beer were a couple peaks away.
Thank you and I myself have enjoyed reading through your posts.
Keep hope alive and I recalled this excellent video of that trip to stoke the fire.

Thank you. You gotta bookmark this place for the ultimate hot spring experience at 2150m: https://ridgelineimages.com/sightseeing/honzawa-onsen-japans-highest-rotenburo/
Thanks. I think the clicker just shows the number of people taking different courses for that trailhead. I imagine that’ll be used for planning and maintenance purposes.

Another day hike to punish my body with increasing duration and effort. Hoping my next trip will be an actual camp to...
Hats off to your excellent post trip findings. Very deep and informative.

Very solid advice. Also the taller the tree, the more it will sway in the winds.
Most excellent. Thanks again for sharing your side of the world.
Just saw your latest vid albeit late and always enjoyed it Shug. For some reason, the Milky chocolate did not sit right with me unless its their cake or the hard taffy. If I ever get back to visit...
Not if you have to stand after a grueling all day hike under a sweltering sun. Also not pleasant if you do find a seat but you stink after a three day trip. [emoji4]
Thanks for the info. Just noticed your handle... LOL, something I hear my soon to be teenage daughter mumble every so often.
Great report and thanks for sharing. I too am at the mercy of trains to get me to places but fortunately there are mountains very close by and I can get to the trail head from my door in an hr.

Noice. Looked like time well spent. Thanks for sharing.
Definitely enjoyed this video Shug. Somehow loved seeing that beaveresque creature more than I should. Missed seeing your long formats. Thanks.
Welcome and happy future hangings!
I got a good chuckle out of this. Bravo to the artist.

You can use mule tape or any wide straps that don’t stretch to wrap around the base of the tree. You can probably bypass the straps and just peg it to the ground with a sturdy stake.
I use a...
The problem is brick pillars are strong with vertical force but hammock is pulling horizontally. It may collapse the column.

+1 about monitoring situation in Georgia. Their health/emergency system cannot cope at their current rate of doubling every 3 days.

Time to get inspired and get out. Thanks.
I had no problems and found plenty of places to hang along the public beaches on the Big Island. Few places I could not fully relax because I was under a bunch of hanging coconuts.

I got so burned. Still peeling my skin off my arm.
Thanks! I think I would have enjoyed it better if I had more time but I'll take any opportunity to get out.

My pleasure
I try to avoid camping on a ridge line because of those winds but you certainly had an awesome morning view. Thanks.
I just had to remind myself to slow things down. Awesome finally getting onto the ridge and be met with the cooling winds.

Congratulations looks great! I remember my first hammock camping and it was also with the Blackbird. Thanks for sharing.
Edit: to your question on height. The farther the trees, the higher you...
Need to bail out due to bad weather. I may Fastpack and check out Hatonosu campground on Saturday.
My thoughts are something like this. Cars being the hammock.

I’ll be at the campground albeit later (4/5pm) as I’ll bike around the foothills of Fuji. In case you have time we can certainly meet up.
*** CANCELLED ****
No worries. Let’s cancel this event and perhaps plan again during more favorable weather. I still have my permission and I think I’ll bike pack the foothills of Fuji.
That’s too bad but Happy Moving day.
Another awesome read. Thanks for sharing
Crossing my fingers you get the wife’s blessing. Can you also check with Kumag and Moe?
Japan has similar heat and humidity... or it should if it wasn’t for this abnormal rainy season.
I usually try to camp at higher elevation (above 2000m / little more than 6,500ft).
If it’s...
