Trash bag that I can also use to keep gear dry or cut to make a poncho. You could also pick up a shower curtain liner at a dollar store and cut to size. Not as light as Tyvek, but cheap & easy.

Planning a counterclockwise hike of the 40-mile main trail at Shawnee State Forest in Adams Co. Heat, hills & hammock for anyone interested.

Plan to be somewhere in the dirt (or snow) on Feb 16 & 17. I'll keep an eye on the thread. I have a cold weather "comfort zone" with the hammock. If temps fall below, I may be on the ground.

Thanks for the report and pics. Hit Lake Vesuvius (the southern end of The Wayne) last summer and hitting Wildcat Hollow (the northern end) in a few days. Thanks for "breaking in" the trail.

Won't be able to make this one, but will be checking back for a Manistee River Trail hang in the fall. Over the winter, the MRT-NCT loop kept calling out at me from my wish list.
