A locking 'biner won't help, the webbing can be cut, etc.
If someone really wants something, nothing will stop them from taking it. Even house thieves will take safes with them to open later.

I was thinking of having carabiners on a Lark's Head loop around the whipped ends of a hammock.
I'm in a 7'x7' box room, that's why I'd want to go to a hammock to save room.
I don't like the ideas of stands, they just seem too bulky for a single purpose, maybe tying webbing around a bunk frame and hanging from that would work.
In this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fGUDzJiW_7Q, the author states that the angle of the eye bolt is integral to the structural integrity of the set-up.
Perhaps that (hammock being too...
I was thinking about getting rid of my bed, replacing it with a hammock full-time. It would create alot more room for me, room that cannot accommodate a 12'L hammock stand.
Is it safe for an eye...
You could add a hammock ridgeline for a consistent hang. Apparently that removes shoulder pinch. I've heard it should also be 83% of the total length of the hammock.
I hear conflicting reports on which type of webbing slips and which doesn't.
The webbing on the AHE website says Polyester does not slip like Nylon or Polypro. But I'm sure I've heard that Polypro...
Hey Shug :)
So the vertical layers are Sil-Down-Mesh-Down-Sil?
I think an Amsteel loop with rings and webbing is the easiest to learn, although I have never used it, or hammock at all.
Looks professional! But could you elaborate on what the NoSeeUm was used for?
Why is, in the Hammock Camping category, Underquilts and Bottom Insulation two separate forums.
In addition, there is another forum about UQ in Bottom Insulation, which appears to be the exact...
(Just thrashing out some questions before I make decisions.)
What are the dimensions of your hammock? Length and width wise.
Do you prefer Single or Double size hammocks. Can Doubles really fit 2...
Hmm, the way I worked it out, I was going by ordering the material by single yards. My bad.
Thank you to both of you!
I think the Flat felled seam is what I'm looking for.
But that leaves me with a new question.
How do you connect it when there's 6 individual pieces and a possible 5...
I just have a quick question about making a hammock yourself.
Generally Nylon comes in around 50-60" wide by however many yards long, and most "double" size hammocks are 6 feet wide.
My question...
Hey, I thought that was governance?
Basically, there's nothing to stop you from being killed by a bear. Apart from one eye open and a .45.
You could make a trip wire bell ring system to alert...
I'm trying to design a portable stretcher. But thought it would be possible. But explaining it as a hammock, I thought it would be easier to make sense of. I need the hem to sew on handles for the...
It's not a stitch being pulled like a tug-o'-war but more it being a hem and weight applied to the hammock.
I'm not really the physics type so please go easy on me :S
Hmm, I'm sure this is a case for trial and error. I may hurt my back in the process D:
So to hole 200lbs for example I'd need 30lb x 7 to hold that weight?
So I was wondering how Hammocks support the weight of the user when the type of threads used only hold around 30lbs tensile strength.
Hope someone can answer my question.
Thread injector? You guys can wear kilts but cannot call them sewing machines. You guys must not be getting enough oxygen up there in your hammocks.
Anywho. From my personal research, the general...
Talk about sleeping with the fishes.
DIY?
You could cut and sew the bottom of the ENO Bugnet to get it to match the shape of your hammock.
Isn't disabling comments an infringement of your 1st Amendment rights? I believe this guy served in the military. I guess he doesn't believe in what he fought for.

The funny thing about that video. Is he never actually lay in the hammock. I also thought that his hammock was a bit too high from the ground.
Has...
I don't think I have the legs for a kilt.
Wow! It looks like Woopies are white washing.
But you guys are yet to see my ingenious creation, which hasn't been created yet..
Hey guys. What type of thread do you guys use for your projects?
How did you make the hammock to get it wide enough may I ask.
Thanks in advance.
Can anyone give me the low down on the Necchi "Thread Injector" brand. I found a Necchi SUB22 for a decent price. Any good? Better than Brother?
Yeah for a tarp, when I said lightest I presumed smallest. I wouldn't want a big shiny thing attached to a ridgeline. My plan was to have it Clove Hitched to one end of a Zing It ridgeline and then...
I've bought from the US before with eBay and such. Do you mean a review of the pot or the hammock?
Can someone point me in the direction of the lightest carabiner available.
I'm looking for one for a continuous ridgeline.
Thanks.
Do you ship worldwide?
I wouldn't call this "new" lol. It was probably used as bedding thousands of years ago. Or by some toked up twenty something in the sixties.
Very good job. Love the colour of the nylon.
@Trooper:
colour
I don't know how much the shipping would be, that's the problem.
If people don't trust me, I have +3 references for trading cards to the US.
No one wanting to give up their ENO? ****, they must be worth full price.
So I'm looking to buy an ENO DoubleNest Hammock.
I don't really care if it's used as long as it's not damaged. I would like it in a dark, natural colour. And as you can tell by the spelling, I live...
Does anyone know the weight of a Woopie Sling/Marlin Spike Hitch Suspension as compared to a Webbing/SMC Descending Rings Suspension?
So is a thread injector just a sewing machine?
You'll get more money selling urine samples.
I don't have money for gear, never mind donations. I wish I was joking :(
So no space blankets? And what about rings, biners and other metal things used on hammocks?
But bears can climb! And that's not recommended. Luckily there are no bears in Europe, that I know of.
Now how do we sort out the bear problem?
Which is the better bug net?
I know that question may sound vague, but both have their ups and downs.
Hopefully someone has tried both and can chime in here.
ENO Guardian Bugnet:
Cost-$54.95...
