I too am interested in a group hang around that time.
sorry to gravedig here, but Im considering getting some stingerz but don't think I have any zing-it. In lieu of buying more, could I use 7/64" amsteel?
EDIT: nevermind I think i figured it out.
Im going to be trying this 2/3 pad on my next trip with a 40 deg top quilt. http://simage1.sportsmansguide.com/adimgs/l/2/202177_ts.jpg
We'll see how it goes, I definitely like the idea of...
atl here as well! welcome!
i have the chinook in that size. its super burly. I sewed the webbing loops in in lieu of using the grommets. The grommets are showing no sign of rusting.
between skin and insultex for sure
modular fine tuned suspension adjustment. rather than fully disconnecting your hammock to re-position your suspension and you lift, slide, and milk you suspension to perfect level and flat lay
I second Carter's lake
i cant believe this doesnt have any replies. I love the design especially how short you can make the whoopies. I will be making a pair of these for my BMBH and Ill post the results
Gotta be lighter than a yard tarp, right? The diagonal on that should be around 12 feet so it would definitely cover you. If you dont mind the weight it should work great for you.
Nice find!
i have done it and it is not bad for napping/lounging but to sleep it is pretty much impossible. I am a big cuddler with my girl when in bed but in the hammock it is too much for me. sleep is not...
3rds on the skins if they don't get grabbed
Not for long! Get them while you can!
snagged this because Ive wanted to step down from double to single and Im very pleased. Not that I thought id be disappointed...
ATL here as well! welcome!
NICE NICE NICE first post!
Ive seen a fair amount of these parachute hammocks and they all appear to about the same quality/size (respectively). Personally Id go with whatever was a better deal, but im a bit of a cheapskate
I built a stand that might work for you. It was made hanging indoors over a futon. Convertible sleeping arrangements. I used a patio swing and expanded it with some chain-link fence tubing.

awesome thanks!
I dunno i think it carries similar functionality as the s-biners. You can disconnect whatever from whatever and still have the "hardware" attached to the "base" preventing loss.
I wholly agree, but alas I was not the photographer.
As far as tarps go, it was a cool clear night so we "roughed" it.
not really crazy but heres a bunch of hammocks from a campout we had last year...

i was for probably eight months.. stopped out of laziness and snuggle time with the GF.
I still hang it up occasionally. in fact, i think Ill give the hound(actual dog, my lady is out of town) the...

i did this with ~2 gallons of hot water from the sink, maybe 1/3 cup of regular landry detergent iin a 5 gallon bucket. Stirred it with a broom handle. I then rinsed it twice in the same bucket. I...
+1
..........
they come and go it seems. Youre just gonna have to keep an eye out, great tarps if not a little bit heavy
wow i like this a whole lot!
Any chance on plans/parts list?
man i love that place!
after having come in contact with multiple enos(singles and doubles), my hammockbliss double and my happy johnny single (ebay for less than $20 shipped) ive come to determine its not hard to...
that thing is a BEAST
welcome from buckhead!
absolutely fantastic, very nice work!
i use one of the 8 strands in a cat5. its single stranded 22ga(?) folded in half. The single strand makes it nicely rigid and the coating allows it to slide easily. I highly recommend it as its...
WELCOME from another Atlanta hanger!
very slick, i like it a lot..... Not enough to convert to SLS but it does look really easy to use and clean
youll be fine.
when in doubt hang a boots length higher.
polypro to me is also a good bit coarser around the edges. its almost twiney. nylon has that super smooth almost plush fee. its also been my experience that nylon feels a good bit heavier. conversely...
ahh man you are gonna have a blast! This is one of my favorite places to hang.
As earlier mentioned, the last 100 yds before the falls its super gnarly. Also, right by the falls seems like a great...
thumb thick trail sticks, at whatever length i can break them that's manageable
haha i used to live off s cobb drive aswell, Ridge rd for me.
I do think that there is a level of protection with amsteel. Ive learned my lesson with "that'll work" splices. patience, practice, perfection will give you some seriously strong results. take for...
WELCOME to the forums!
my father used to live in mableton and im in that neck of the woods regularly- ill have to check out that store!
sorry, but thats worth quoting.
yeah that might work if you whipped the inner layer first longer than the outer to form a sort of stopper. Then whip outer layer and attach suspension below that.
id be afraid the nylon would slide out through the wool, that said i do like this concept. give it a try and let us know how it works out.
I sleepp nightly and backpack the HB double. Its also my test bench hammock so its sees its fair share of abuse. the quality is on par or better than the other parachute style hammocks on the market....
when darkness comes around here we all just hang out similar to this, only darker. Especially good when the weathers as nice as its been

That is incredible. would love to hike there in the future.
