1.1 Olive ripstop.
But I'm gonna hold this for someone local--no time to get it to the PO!
I'm cleaning out my closets and just landed on them, years later! I'm giving them away, so if you'd like them and can pick them up sometime in the next couple of weeks, let me know!
ps as to how much, again.....as I said, everything together is $100 plus shipping. It doesn't make sense to part it out, so it really only makes sense if you want to do 2 quilts.
As I said, approx. 62x80 and 5x5. The ripstop no doubt will have shrunk a bit from having its edges burned....
Hi there,
The ripstop and the climashield are both already cut (and burned, in the case of the ripstop) to the dimensions I posted. The ripstop is olive.
The bits and pieces (I'm pretty sure I...
I bought materials (climashield hl 6 oz. and ripstop and hooks and shock cord and thread) from Backwoods Daydreamer (just the ripstop) and Arrowhead Equipment (all else) for making my own quilts last...
I asked just on a lark--I figured the prices required standardization. But he said that though the length was fixed (by virtue of being the width of the insulation), the width could be added onto...
Definitely...and I had them make it a tad wider (48") so my pup will be warm too. Looking forward to trying it out next week!
thanks very much....I just ordered the KAQ Jarbridge river--for $100, it seemed like the best speedy option. Now I'll just try to sell my materials to someone who wants both a UQ and a topquilt.
I just looked, and you're right--some of their bags are now EN-listed. A big improvement!
wow, good deal, thanks.....I might just have to do it.
anybody have that 3/4 length down one? any feedback on ease/comfort/actual warmth? I'd be using it with a zip-style HH.
thanks!
don't believe the rating, not for a second. I had a 25-degree sub-kilo, and was absolutely freezing in it at 40+. they don't use the EN standards (which have 3 numbers, for female comfort, male...
thanks, Aven. I'll check that out...
"I see that you have chosen to air your lament on the DIY forum. Just a little reminder of what DIY stands for: Do It Yourself. "
Yes....I'm airing it here because I'm hoping to find someone...
I'm IN Seattle, near Cap Hill...
Thanks, all. I did check with a tailor--he wasn't interested. And my two seamstress friends both said "too hard"--because the ripstop is so slippery. I understand very well the satisfaction of doing...
Sigh....I bought materials (climashield hl and ripstop and hooks and thread) for making my own quilts last summer, but simply won't have time to learn to sew, and 2 friends who DO sew say the ripstop...
huh....okay, thanks. I'll let you know how it goes!
jbo_c--what are your grosgrain loops for? what kind of suspension are you using? I was assuming I'd just attach mitten clips or something to the end shock cords, then attach that to my HH. I think...
"Grosgrain loops on each of the corners, channels on the ends with shock cord and cordlocks to cinch them up and you're done!
For climashield, all you need to do is sew the perimeter to your...
