Anyone in touch with the fella with the reddish beard? I can't remember his name now. He had some steger liners in his surplus mukluks, and I want to get the max size that will fit in those.

Glad I made it out also. Great group of folks to BS with. Can't beat a relaxed weekend like that!
Think it's been about 3 years since I've made it out. Coincidentally my first kid was born in 2019
I'll be up with my buddy, Chris. It'll be good to get back out there and see some...
Thanks! Any insight on the 54" width? I'm going to order 4yds,and would love to skip the extra 4 if it isn't needed. Most projects I see don't use super wide material.
Thinking I might just have...
I appreciate that. I was leaning toward the heavier initially. For as much as I backpack (not as much as I used to!), the extra weight will be far from killer.
You have a recommendation for the .9...
Hi all,
I'm considering making a hammock with an integrated bug net, but I am unsure if I will need to make a seam in the net.
I'm planning on an 10.5-11.5ft hammock with hyperD XL, which is...
Cheers, thanks.
I realize this is sacrilegious in multiple ways, but does anyone have an idea of sprint signal strength? Vikings might be playing their first playoff game.
Edit: Sunday at 3:30. Can't get better...
All are welcome, it's always a good learning experience.
I want to confirm two if us for the weekend. Will update spreadsheet shortly as well. Looking forward to getting out into the cold for a...
Hi folks, been awhile, but I think a buddy and I will make to the hang this year!
Tell him to check out the WI winter hang if you talk to him again. It's in February.
I'm going to try to make it out. Never are any certainties this far out..
Definitely interested. I have a few dates that I can't do, but I love fall camping.
It was a good time last year. Definitely going to keep track of this thread.
Can't do much off-road with my cruiser!
My class is Thursday-Sunday next week!
Also in support of some motorcycle camping. Just got my bike two weeks ago.
Like others, I don't have anything cemented, but I am definitely looking to get out in the area.
What produced the lease amount of movement?
I made a quick stand out of a 2x4, an eye bolt, and a hook. Three 10 inch spikes in the ground and some rope. It works.
However, here I am looking up info about stands so that should tell you...
I'm interested. Will be following the thread from green bay as things get closer.
Looks like I won't be leaving as early as I thought. Will probably get in around 7-8.
I bought a pack of 40 huge spikes from home depot or menards. They are stupid heavy, but you will never break them and they arent very expensive. They are strictly for winter camping when I am...
I'm in! As long as these temps don't continue...
Also I should be able to get there at a reasonable hour this year. Leaving GB around noon.
Sounds like a plan to me. I expect to be there in the afternoon sometime. Ish.
Also, here is a map for anyone who hasn't seen it.
I can't really speak to the parking situation, but you are definitely welcome to join on this or any other group hang posted!
I don't think there's any protocol to follow.
See you in a couple...
Just read through the report. Really cool to see all the pieces and benefits of each component explicitly. It makes me want to try some of this stuff out... Though I've only just made my first...
I will see if i can make the hole bigger. Perhaps I need a smaller toll once i get it all loosened up.
Thanks to you both.
I can't watch the videos now, but specifically, when I pull the 4 strands into the bury, some of the remaining stands always get caught on the edge of the bury. Does this make sense?
I have been doing some splicing, and cannot figure what I am doing wrong. I've tried long and short tapers and tapers with more or fewer stands pulled out. I can splice Ansel quite easily now, but...
Just thinking out loud here, but I imagine a dowel that's just the right size would do the trick, and would be nice and simple. Glue one side, and you'll never lose it. That said, I used bamboo...
It was a bit of a hike. Nothing too crazy though.
...As long as you pay attention to the thread! I failed at reading comprehension last year.
Sad to hear it! You will be missed.
Also your signature line is awesome.
Thanks! I'm pretty sure it's the only list I've ever made... I just really like to be able to have an inventory and weight list of my camping gear. :D Mostly I started doing it because I was so...
I posted the link up the thread a little bit. Let me know if any of the items aren't clear, a lot of them have abbreviated names.
I'm happy to help any way I can!
I just bought three of them. I found a free shipping code online.
Here is my gear list. Might be slightly hard to parse. Scroll whatever date/trip you want to see over to match the list. It's pretty close to exhaustive for some trips. I am pretty anal about it...
I am for sure coming Thursday at this point.
Jungle, what kind of checklist are you looking for? I have a very detailed inventory of several past trips i could send you.
I think this is a good representation of my feelings on the matter. I have used the ENO many times on many outings. However, I just recently finished and tried a 10.5 foot DIY, and I was blown away...
I just finished mine! Got to test it out for a little while, and it was sooo much more comfortable than the ENO. The difference really surprised me.
I'll add another "thank you!" to the chorus!
Also, for anyone interested, this quilt is on sale $200 right now... Too good a deal to pass up for me.
JRB probably loves you Shug.
I am going to try for Thursday as well. Still tentative on that though.
Shuuuuug, why must you do this to me. Now, I want a winter UQ more than ever.
You are correct in my case anyway. I did 9 days on the jmt this summer and had to be prepared to go to ground (i didn't, thankfully). I wasn't about to carry a pad and not use it, and my setup was...
Yeah, I need to convince my job...
Hopefully it won't conflict worth the Wisconsin hang, which is currently scheduled for January 10-12!
I'll take one.
Much appreciated.
ENO tarps have them. But from experience I wouldn't really recommend them.
Definitely going to try and make it again. Had a great time attempting to ice sail last year. Where's that video from Bill?
I officially have off, and week be coming. Megan will not be, unfortunately.
