double check that, i was there in may and had no issue.
the primitive group site should be cheaper. @vogul
its at vogul, in between the regular sights more on the south side, but up hill.
theres ample parking and vogul state park is right there, and should be a great group site, with many trailhead of its own, including wolf creek pass. ive camped there ample hammock spots.
theres an outfitter store on a trailhead, on us 129. that seems like an awesome starting point. but dont know much about the trail there.
no takers on an AT hike. blood mountain to whereever
we could just hike in to the AT at blood mountain and do a short group hike.
granny pat, helen is great this time of year. ive camped up there since i was a kid. its worth the drive!
