I wonder how you would attach the line to the primary suspension instead of the hammock, because the under quilt gets stored unattached to the hammock?
I'd just smother it on both sides with seam sealer, and if you notice it pulls out perhaps look into some sort of no-sew patch
I like this design! Being able to put it up onto a tree would be great so you're not living off the ground entirely. Ziplock bags full of things like oats and what-not?
Like attach carabiners in a line to lengthen my ridge line? I shoulda made it adjustable I suppose... Didn't have much length of cordage
About 60" I believe. I'm 5'11!
I can't get comfortable at all. When I go diagonal it feels better to me than being in a tent on the ground, but I can't get my upper body comfortable.
Hi all,
Thanks for all the comments. Just got back from a 2 night bikepacking trip.
I prepared a fixed 83% ridgeline to try out, and it was great to have the bugnet stay off and be able to hang...
"Is that a paper clip in your bugnet? What is its purpose?"
It's a double carabiner, which I have to hook my underquilt to my suspension. It's difficult to reach from the entry of the bugnet to the...
Hi all,
I spent weekends on and off making:
11' gathered end hammock
Side entry bugnet
3/4 length underquilt
Top quilt
Whoopie slings
Hello,
I started making my top quilt following the straight taper spreadsheet (https://www.hammockforums.net/forum/showthread.php/48444-DIY-Down-Top-Quilt-Measurement-Spreadsheet), which has left...
Okay, that's what I was doing here with it pitched indoors. I smothered as bunch of SilNet in. Hopefully it doesn't keep ripping!
On a side note:
I'm worried about the corners of the ridgeline on my tarp. I followed the instructions on RSBTR. Where the HyperD reinforcement meets the Silpoly 1.1 you can clearly see the...
Not happy with the quality of sewing near the end. The +2.5" seam allowance was supposed to give me 1" channels on the edges for the shock cord, but it didn't line up well at the corners and part of...
I'm nearing the beginning of sewing my 3/4 9oz UQ using CatSplats calculator.
I have all the material and down and am ready to go.
The only thing I'm having a hard time wrapping my head around is...
Yes by rolled hems I mean the edges, which for me I rolled twice on itself and sewed shut. No need to seal them though.
Edit: What I don't get about the 1.1 Silypoly is that it says "This fabric...
I am asking before I continue. I can't find any concrete answers other than people saying to use silicone sealer on PU coated fabrics, so this makes sense to me.
What I have:
1.1oz Silpoly tarp...
Curious how this looked stuffed and compressed
