I just got a shipping confirmation! :)
I just saw this thread and ordered a shirt. I almost missed the party. :scared:
Thanks Shug!!! :)
Welcome! I'm in Fall City and Zugcat is in Issaquah. We should meet up soon. We have a spot close by where we test out our gear.
Welcome from the other side of the state!
I've had mine for two weeks. it was a replacement for my damaged 1.0 BB. :)
Here's the latest and greatest BB. I left my pole mod on it to help show the netting....
Shouldn't be an issue if you're using the tarp pole mod. I'll set up my SF when I get a chance.
I think the length is perfect. My plan is to use one for the tarp and one for the BB. I got the poles from Dutch. Here's a link with all the info.
Improved! The pole passes through the suspension.
If I wanted to make it permanent I would add pole pockets for easier set up. And your right with thinner and lighter poles.
Thanks. I guess I still have a use for your poles when I use a smaller tarp. ;)
No real reason. The uppermost section is narrower. I guess it looks cooler crossed.
Getting in is easier because the upper fabric isn't flopping around. I had my iPad in the shelf and it tipped...
Here's a quick and easy mod. I took my SF tarp pole mod I bought from Dutch and girth hitch them to the guy lines for the shelf and door. Adds room and you don't have to guyout the sides. :shades:
OutandBack's pic inspired me. I attached my Dutch tarp pole mod to my BB. These pole might be too long to put in the sock, but you can just add shorter poles to your BB then add the sock.
Thanks, Shug! Hopefully I can find it here in the PNW. :)
Thanks! I have a couple laying around. ;)
I could have seen it here. It just made sense to help reduce cold air from getting...
Just enough to get comfortable flat lay.
I like it a lot. It's my go to winter hammock, the rest of the year I use a WBBB.
After watching some Shug I decided to try to put together my own winter pod system. Here's a list of the gear I used:
Feathered Friends 20° Swallow sleeping bag
HG 0° Incubator UQ
HG 0° Burrow...
Welcome from just east of Seattle. :)
Welcome! I'm not too far out in Fall City. Hopefully you can join us on a hang this winter.
Sold to hand em high.
I have a lightly used Hammock Gear 20° Pheonix under quilt for sale. Black exterior and green interior rip stop fabric. Standard fill down. The quilt was stored loose in a cotton storage bag and...
Withdrawn. I'm going to post this elsewhere. Thanks!
For sale is an unused Svea 123R from the 80's. The stove is a little tarnished from 30+ years of storage. The stove is complete and includes the original box and instructions. Because the stove has...
I have an older Golite Gust hanging up in the garage. You're welcome to check it out.
Withdrawn. I'm going use this for parts or replace the missing pot and try to sell it again. Mods you can close this thread. Thanks.
I have a Svea 123R that is missing the small pot and pot handle with an Optimus Terra weekend HE cook set for sale. The stove is in perfect working order and has a new fuel cap washer. Also included...
Right, it doesn't look like it has much of an overlap to close the hood.
Also, at $259 there are better options out there. ;)
Kind of a neat design. I like the hood and arm pockets.
Have any of you seen one in person?
You better act fast. The remaining EL Mini stock is it. The Emberlit Fire Ant is about to be released. They posted this on Facebook.
My first Rainier climb was with AAI, I use to live a few blocks from them. I also took a the mountaineering course with them. They're a great outfit. I'm actually friends with some of their guides. ...
You could always rent a pair from the guide service. Who are you going with, AAI, RMI, IMG?
My sock arrived today with only a week wait! I'll sleep out on the deck in it with my traveler hammock tonight. Can't wait for my next winter trip! :)
Scratch Zugcat and I off the list. We're unable to attend this hang. Time to unload my pulk.
Thanks guys! Looks like I'll be loading up the pulk!
Anyone know the current snow depth at Frog lake?
The ski bowl at 5010' only has 23". Frog Lk is at 3800'. :/
I hope we can use our pulks.
Maybe there won't be any snow mobiles.
I'll take 1 med and 1 sm. Thanks.
Zugcat and I will be hiking in by headlamp like last year.
I had a great time! I have to admit that I chose to use my neglected Hilleberg tent for this trip. The GSI wok worked out great with my SVEA 123 and Sigg Tourist cook set. As Mumbles said not too...
I can bring a white gas lantern.
Nice video! I wish we had those conditions out here. How are you liking the BD viper ice tools? I own the BD Venoms and kinda suffered though my ice climbing course with them. Lol.
I'll swap my 1.7SL with you. I should have traded with you when I last saw you.
My wife just giggles when I get a new pair of VFF's. Pair # 17 just arrived.
I have an ENO Pro fly I can let go for $50. I only used it 4 times.
Thank you! Nicely done. :)
I feel exactly the same. :shades:
I'd pick this if I didn't own so many stoves.
That's cool. :shades:
I'd stay away from the new ones made in China. I've compared my 123 & 123R to one Zugcat picked up and it didn't perform as well and it was poorly made. He ended up with my spare 123.
I would have but its too big for me. :/
Good luck with the sale.
