Thanks! That's great coming from such an innovator.

Thanks! Unfortunately I'm in the process of moving right now so I won't be able to do some dedicated testing for a month or two.
I'd like to start by thanking WV for posting his People's Bridge Hammock and updating the dimensions for side sleepers. I took his design and modified the dimensions a bit (consistent with his...
So I finally got around to making an SGB out of Hexon 1.6 for my son. I made the following changes to Dblhmmck's designs in the thread:
1. I ended up modifying a method that Doogie posted about...
Caminate,
Thanks! I hope you enjoyed your vacation.

Caminate,
Sorry to resurrect this, but I just bought materials to make a CS 6.0 UQ and wanted to make sure I understood all of the initial dimensions correctly. Do you also include a 1/2" seam...
Dutch,
Thanks! I just placed an order for 8 yards.
Dutch,
Any chance you'll post a tutorial on how to build this particular instantiation of a hex tarp at MakeYourGear? I really like the design, but would like the bottom tie-outs a bit wider for...
Dutch,
What's the distance between the bottom tie outs?
Thanks!
Sincerely,
Dave-O
WV,
Thanks for the dimensions of your spreader bars and the updated design for side sleepers.
I have 2 more questions. First, how do you attach the whopping slings to both ends of the...
WV,
+1 on the length of your spreader bars. Also, did your testing reveal any sort of relationship between the width of the ends versus the width of the middle?
Thanks!
Dblhmmck,
The pictures were just what I needed. I thought you were running the Amsteel through the first hem not making a second fold for the Amsteel. Thanks for posting these!
Dblhmmck,
Thanks for answering my questions. Glad you're getting time to get out and do some testing. If you get a chance, would you mind taking some pictures of how you folded the fabric over...
Dblhmmck,
Can you please elaborate on what you did to enclose the Amsteel? Also, has changing the dimensions of the cuts at the head end caused you to changes the size of the trapezoidal piece...
My impression was that Fronkey originally used the entire width for each side of the bugnet. Though FireInMyBones built a Fronkey-style bugnet using 1 piece of 60ish inch material just folded over.
Dblhmmck,
For the bugnet I'm still try to wrap my brain around sewing two pieces of material together that are different lengths but have the same two end points (it must be the engineer in me)....
Dblhmmck,
Thanks for sharing this design!
For the shapes at the top and bottom of the hammock is the top edge the same width as the gathered end before or after the end is gathered? I...
Grizz,
Thanks for explaining that. I do have life insurance :). I haven't heard of that brewery but now I'm interested. I'll let you know if I track it down.
Caminate,
Did you also dart or pleat your outer shell?
Grizz,
I just revisited this thread because I was thinking of replacing the webbing in my next bridge hammock with cord. In the past you've used 2mm Endura-12 in your suspensions. Can you...
Just found this thread since I've been trying to figure out a zipper less bugnet for my DIY bridge. Were you ever able to salvage the project? Did you happen to take any pictures of hothead shock...
+1 on the Zeppelin Bend.
Are there campsites in the woods in Belgium or do you have to stealth camp? I've only found one place with 10 authorized sites where I live in Germany.
Boston,
I checked the manufacturers website, it looks like they make it in 7/8" and 1-1/2". Do you think the 1-1/2" (folded over the ridgeline it would be 3/4") would be too big?
Sincerely,...
Thanks for the info. Just out of curiosity, what width do you use?
Boston,
I'm going to make my first tarp soon. Do you know where to purchase the polyester tape? This is what I found after a quick search. Is it the same thing?
Sincerely,
Dave-O
I'm about 5 hours away in Germany, but may be able to do something in the Spring.
I might be able to make it depending when it is.
I have to use a VPN service to access Dutch's site from Turkey.
The Jacks have some hints at their site.
I was wondering if anyone has technique for sewing the suspension webbing to the edge of the a bridge hammock--the first pass down the center before wrapping it in the hem. I've tried to do it...
Thanks everyone for the info on the resources for wider NoSeeUm. I found Zpacks' netting after I asked the question.
Sincerely,
Dave-O
Great modification to the design! Thanks for posting it. Just out of curiosity, where do you get no-see-um that's 60" wide?
I was just looking at JRB's website earlier today and the site said approximately 4". It's in the 3rd paragraph.
You might want to take a look at Wilderness Logics' Bullfrog tarp. The Bullfrog...
+1 on this question for the original and bridge versions of the speed hooks.
Great looking bridge! How did you attach your end caps to the bridge's body? Did you consider making your end caps out of cuben? It could save a little more weight.
Thanks. That's what I kind of figured about 10 minutes after I posted my question. Great picture!
Boston,
What's the advantage of not sewing to the edge of the inner part of the grosgrain (i.e., the diagonal stitching)?
Sincerely,
Dave-O
Thanks!
Here is the link to SGT Rock's plan
What type of material did you use for the reinforcements?
I don't have a tarp with this design yet, but I believe it's because the grosgrain covered seam is oriented vertically and at the apex of the ridgeline instead of laying flat so water doesn't really...
I was originally going to use the full width of the material for the center section of my tarp and sew on the sides. Streamline and Gargoyle have different designs that do this. However, I think...
Squidbilly,
Thanks for posting this. I haven't received my Membrane Sil yet, but the design I was going to use was going to require seam sealing. Thanks for saving me some time and money!

Opie,
I've built a couple of bridge's using Hikingdad's end cap method, but have wanted to try a sewn on end cap like you've done. Do you add an extra fabric to you templates for a seam...
Dutch,
Have you tried to use these in place of a whoopie hook on a whoopie sling? I realize that would add more weight and increase a person's minimum hand distance, but it would give people some...
Thanks everyone for the info!
Dutch,
I just found this. Do you use any detergent when washing it? I assume delicate is probably the most appropriate cycle. My son has been asking me to wash our Tyvek for a while, but I...
Great job with the tarp! Your edge hems are amazing. Did you use a flat felled seam for the ridgeline?
What are your impressions of the material regarding its strength vs. the elements? Do you...
Kyle,
Any update on the hydrostatic head results?
