I use a Nemo. I like that you can put extra air in it to help prop your head up if you want to read. Than soften it up when you're ready to sleep. Reading isn't really an issue if I'm backpacking...
Hate to admit this but he was able to setup quicker than I do, and get a better hang.
Cemetery?
I never have but you can try to create a tie point using a rock.

I don't know if that link will work but I found it by searching the phrase "tying down a tarp"
I was up in the area hiking a couple days ago. Although I didn't stay at the campground, we were able to see a few sites through the trees as we were driving to the trail head. From what I saw it...
USN - 79 to 85 USS Scott DDG-995
Good luck on your planned trip. A heads up before you get to the the trail head. There are signs at Lincoln woods letting you know that there is no sleeping in the cars, or camping at the Lincoln...
I've been watching this thinking about joining. With the temps they are forecasting I'm going to take a pass. I'm looking to try some winter camping and the wife would feel much better if I did it...
Fun read. Thanks for sharing.
Really enjoyed your report. Thanks for sharing. As others have said, I carry a set of dry clothes to throw on. Even on day hikes I tend to have a second top in the bag. I tend to sweat a lot, and...
I recently purchased the Jarbidge (not Jarbridge, who knew?) at $100 and thought it was a great deal. It has been getting plenty of use with my WBBB. At $75 they should be flying off the shelf.
I'm not sure where you want to go once in VT but there are a number of primitive camp sites set up the USFS in the Green Mountains. During the past couple years I have hiked the various mountains...
Thanks for the feedback. After reading your reply Tree Frog, I did search through some of Shug's videos and found something that discussed getting the UQ positioned correctly for use with the foot...
Last night I spent a cool/cold night camping up in northern Maine using a PLUQ that I had issues keeping in place. I have been looking at the Jarbridge for awhile, and after last night's experience...
Is the Jarbridge 1 or 3 season?
I had some issues the first time I put the incubator on the WBBB. Played around with the UQ fit and found the ends were cinched to tight.
I use the footprint from a two person Sierra Design t***. The size is about 5X7 and could be used as an emergency tarp.
Last year I picked up an Army surplus bug net to use with the Yukon hammock you can get from WOOT every now and than. Not something you want to carry, but it works okay as a cheap second setup when...
Thanks for the heads up. Just placed an order for some Zing-it. I'm tired of playing around with a variety of lines for hanging the tarp.
Did Brandon tell you why the shock cord is not recommended on the doors? I have an SF and use shock cords on the door. Seems to work well for me.
On my SF I have shock cord attached to each door tie out. When the doors are not in use the length of each piece of shock cord is such that there is a bit of tension when I pull the cords to center...
I'm considering purchasing one to protect my new incubator. I tried to explain to the wife how this is really an insurance policy to protect my investment in the UQ. I'm not sure she really bought...
I assume this will be my next dilemma also. After much internal debate I finally purchased a 20 deg incubator. I spent a bit of time over this past weekend using it in my back yard. Really happy with...
Military Surplus - I bought two used ones around Christmas time. One to throw into my wife's car and one to go into my son's car. I think I payed around $50 for both blankets.
I ordered on the same day. Maybe it will be out soon and here by the weekend. Saturday's forecast is for a low of 16*. I see a backyard hang coming this weekend.
Good news. I order a 20* incubator about a week ago. I have no idea how long it will take to get here, but was hoping it would be before it hit 70* :). Can't wait for it to show up so I can get out...
That's my height and weight and I haven't had any issues with the 1.1dbl.
The superfly is a great tarp. I also picked up a Maccat standard that I have used in the back yard. Although the Maccat is also a nice tarp, whenever I head out I go with the superfly because of the...
MAC25 started a thread in the weather protection forum asking for advice on hanging his SF tarp. A lot of the conversation discussed the use of the CRL and whether to use it over or under the tarp....
Dave - Although I don't post often, I have been a member, and pretty much a daily visitor to this board for some time. You can consider me a concerned distant cousin. Best wishes to you during this...
I have been working my way through a number of hiking lists in the Northeast so I guess I primarily hike. However, the camping part is a great bonus that comes with the hiking. Whether it is a...
I'm in. Thanks for the opportunity.
Sounds interesting. Last time I hiked Cardigan I was almost blown off the mountain. I would like to give it another shot and see if I can enjoy the summit a little bit more.
I do most of my...
There are a number of other ways into the Pemi. Again, I suggest purchasing the trail map of the region to get a better idea of the trail system, terrain, and camping options available.
Even with...
A notice of the pending closure of the Lincoln Woods trail for 6 to 8 weeks was placed on the White Mountain National forest web page today. Not sure of the exact dates of the closer, or when you...
The Pemigewasset (Pemi) wilderness is a great place to spend a few days. I would suggest a starting / ending spot of Lincoln Woods visitor center off the Kancamagus highway. There is a parking fee...
I grew up in New Jersey and spent many summers camping and enjoying various activities in the Pine Barrens. I look forward to the trip reports and photos to provide me with short journeys down memory...
I have been taking the WB superfly on my backpacking trips. As others have mentioned the SF gives me confidence that I'm ready for any weather situation that may arise. I've used the MacCat std in my...
As far as NH goes, I have hammock camped in NH state parks with no issues. I don't recall asking before I set up, but I did see the rangers making rounds after setting up and no one stopped to tell...
I spent a year car camping with the hammock and hanging in the back yard before taking my first solo backpacking trip. Those back yard and car trips were very enjoyable (insert "able to bring beer"...
I'm 6FT 180lbs and have tried side sleeping in the WBBB. In a bed I am primarily a side sleeper. In the hammock I find I have to really pull the knees up to avoid putting pressure on the hips, that...
This past weekend I spent the night at Stratton Pond on the southern section of the LT. I had a Term-a-Rest prolite air pad, a short piece of wally world blue foam for the shoulders, and a PLUG. I...
I picked one of these up last time they were available. This has been my go to for back yard hangs. Great buy.
The Green Mountain Club puts on some nice books and maps. I started hiking in VT last year and have found this book:

Last fall I stayed at Emerald Lake state park in Vermont. Really nice camp ground, reasonably priced, and no issues with using a hammock. I looked through the pictures I took that weekend but didn't...
I went through the same thing after sealing the pull outs on my WBSF when it first arrived. Had an awful feeling that I had aesthetically ruined the tarp before I even used it. I assumed I had not...

During your research you developed a pill that curbs the desire to purchase more hammock gear than you can possible use, and it hits the market tomorrow.
