Man am I ready to get some time in the woods...looking forward to seeing everyone
I'm in, even if it snows and/or LRR hits a stump. Looking forward to it.
I thought for a moment I was watching "Straight Outta Compton" when you guys were rapping in the car and then you launched into Frank Zappa from the Hammock. Mind Blown!. Thanks for sharing!
Thanks Kyle...it was fun playing :)
I haven't made anything yet but would like an opportunity to try my hand at a DIY project.... making a big tarp with doors and a pole mod for winter camping sounds like fun

Nice to see some old fashioned creek stomping. Thanks for sharing!
I'm going up next weekend to do some kayaking and I intend to hang.
Count me in as well. Thanks!
Did it look something like this?
too funny, made me laugh out loud when I read this!
Was going to say I'm sorry I missed this but I'm not so sure now
Dan and I are out as well - headed to the Upper Delaware for a little kayaking
I'm in and voted as well. Thanks!
JWright on the forums was just there 2 weeks ago. I would PM him your questions, he is a good guy and I'm sure he'll answer them if he can.
By looking at the park site it looks like this either a hike / paddle in? Also looks like you need a Boat Ramp Maintenance Permit for any car using the boat ramp?
Dan and I would like to attend - we're a maybe till I check schedules.
voting once a day :)
Sounds like you've come to the right place, let me be the first to welcome you!
Nice video - sounds like your head and heart were in it :)
I have a brand new Black one still in packaging. I'd let it go for $45 shipped.
Nice video,Ian. It looks like a great walk. Glad you're getting a chance to use the microspikes. Must be an "Unwritten Law" that you have to wear them and carry an ice axe :)
one more vote for Fronkey (and Tala, of course)...Good luck, man!
I was able to get my hands on a prototype set of Cinch Bugs in January and have been using them ever since on my bridge hammock. All the ease and adjustability of a cinch buckle but so light you...
I'm not so sure about the shorts and flip flops, but the rain gear makes sense. I've tried cheap and expensive and it all seems to wet out sooner or later but at least you're *warm*. I just usually...
So given the weather, curious as to what you guys typically wear on the river?
If you're considering PA then I would suggest the following:
Black Forest Trail - 42 Mile Loop - supposed to be tough but a great hike
Loyalsock Trail - 60 miler
Welcome, neighbor. Glad you're here. If you get a chance try to come out the the spring MAHHA - you can get a Phd in all things hammock there and have a lot of fun doing it :)
Despite the lack of cold temps and some rainy weather it was an awesome hang. Great people, food, raffle, and campfire.
Thanks to all of the organizers and people who pitched in to put...
No worries...you're still the world's greatest hiker, and you still got your looks too
Welcome neighbor, we're glad your here. Sounds like you have your hands full but if you can get a chance to stop by the NJ Winter Hang I think you'd enjoy it.
You might want to send a quick email to Dutch. Something might have gotten by quality control and I'm sure he'd work with you to set things right.
That's some pretty good advice and pretty good system that will work in a variety of situations. The SuperFly and HG Phoenix are choice pieces of kit that will serve you well in the long run....
Best of luck and congrats!
I got out in the backyard hammock stand last night. Low was 6 according to my accurite thermometer. Didn't beat my previous low (5). Here is the gear I used:
DH Thunderbird with topcover
Welcome from SE PA. Sounds like your off to a great start and we're glad your here.
Massdrop runs on what the owners call "community-driven commerce", where users discuss products they are interested in buying and the site's owners then negotiate and organise ordering the products,...

Welcome! Consider coming out to a group hang before you throw in the towel - lots of people there that can help you dial things in.
I'm in. Thanks!
Nice video 2Q...this one is on my list
Hats-off to the the GSHDA-NJ officers and staff for putting together such an excellent and well-provisioned hang. It was also very educational, I learned the following:

Dan and I may be changing up to do the shorter route in from Batsto as well. He has to be up tomorrow morning at 4 AM for work and he said tonight that he'd probably like to shorten up the hike in.
Dan is off work at 11:00 AM and it's around a 2 hour drive to Batsto to pick up the permit so we are hoping to hit the trail around 1:00 PM. Anyone else planning on leaving around that time?
Friday: High 42 / Low 27 Clear
Saturday: High 46 Low 36 Partly Sunny
Now on to hammock selection - Gathered End? Bridge?
Still the best deal in town...thanks working out all the details so we can focus on some serious lollygagging in the Piney woods :)
I wouldn't mind this so much if the money all went back into the park however, I don't much like the fact that ReserveAmerica gets almost $30 bucks.
I think this a terrific idea!
Tinkr and I are both in for this one...hoping for cold weather :)
Well played, Sir!
