Watching this thread. I would love to meet more fellow Buckeye hangers.

I remember those from my distant youth, but I am trying to forget.....

As others have mentioned, I leave it on to avoid things falling out during the inevitable trip to the latrine over night.

I can't make anything this month but I am already thinking about a January hang. I have heard 9 and 10 are good hnging sites at Mohican, any others that would work, even for two or three hangers?

I use both the crl from arrowhead equipment and Dutch stingerz for hanging tarps. Both are pretty easy to center over the hammock. I find that I use the crl more often. Ymmv

Grifter- I have tarps from jacks r better, war bonnet, OES, and ugq..... All will serve you well. If weight is not an issue for you, consider a tarp with doors like the superfly or winter dream. ...

Sounds like you had a great time. The wbbb is a great choice. You have discovered a hammocking truth- there is no substitute for getting out and using your gear.

I would love to see pics and a report on your first hang with the new uq!

Totally agree with Paul. The uq will tend to close the loose fabric in around you.

Great color combo. I wouldn't have expected it to look that good. Normally black and blue makes me think of a bruise, but not anymore!

Temp in the teens with wool shirt and cap. Pretty comfy.

I have used mine into the teens with no cold butt syndrome. I did use a small square of closed cell foam in the foot box of the blackbird though.
