Wish I could tag along - just can't make the time unfortunately. Been such a long time since I've gotten out it saddens me. Take some pictures and catch a nice cutty for me ;)
Please let me know...
Wine, Cheese and some crackers for fire time (if you're into that sort of thing. God knows we are)
Maynard G Krebs if I recall correctly ;) "It's like a beard" cool old show. I miss Gilligan
I hate to tell you this but this sounds like part of the perfect first paragraph to an amazing novel you have yet to write.
I for one would like to try one of these out. I've put one together myself using a cheapo bag and it was just too tight - and my sewing skills are really terrible.
Anybody know where I might be...
Must... resist... wife... will.... kill... me...... aahhh!!!!!!!!
Man o man I love bear mtn... but I just moved to Spokane, WA so I'm gonna miss this one :)

That does sound like a really cool feature... I'd +1 to see that.
But to be fair re: redundancy - have you ever picked up a text book or older magazine to find the information obviously out of...
Great report - I haven't hung in a long while and this made me really miss it.

"Yes" :) For all the reasons stated.
Lower = warmer generally. Helps you seal out the elements (baring floods)

The memory of XexorZ can live on in New Jersey forever and ever in the best way possible... in the forum of his trusty Spatula... the best **** spatula I've ever owned! May it flip many burgers and...
I won't be able to make it this year (or likely any year moving forward) - the Wife and I are moving to Washington State :) :)
I'll Miss my NJ friends from Hammock Forums!!!!! :( :(
I'm In  Wifey loves a pillow in her hammock :)
Ditto - I don't find a pillow helpful. In fact, quite the opposite.

Pi * r ^ 2 * h = v
Pi * 1.5 ^2 * h = 800
h = v / ( Pi * r ^2 )
h = 800 / (Pi * 1.5 ^2)
Man what a negative post... (ducks!) just kidding! Seriously though - this place rocks your socks (hammock socks that is).

Howdy from Norther NJ!
I'm a bit coffee'd up at the moment and may have missed it but - what are you using for bottom insulation? If you haven't tried any yet, that is why you're cold :)
I use pads and have no problem...
I sold off one of my BBs to buy a "Leftie" version of the same - for when my Wife and I hang next to eachother :)
Keep in mind there are no "best choices" unless you want something for "one...
Sometimes solo, other times with one or more of my cousins, with my Wife and soon to be with our baby daughter.
Good times
Check with paypal if you used it to pay - I believe they have buyer protection or some such... worth looking into at least.
Very nice work indeedie!
This has renewed my desire to obtain a decent thread injector (and go through the learning curve!)
Thanks much

Very cool pics Karl - thanks much!
The only thing I did to my BB was add a piece of rope tied to the ridge line leading to the foot-end zipper. This lets me zip and unzip using my foot so I don't have to try to sit up in the hammock...

My whole issue with activated carbon built into fabrics is that they become "Saturated" with scent - and this is something the manufacturers generally dance around...
Their instruction is to dry...
Hopefully just gives them a ring to come and pick it all up!!
Congrats on the new bird!
+1 for the same reasons.
You really can't go wrong with this hammock - it really is well built and well priced imho.
What are you using for insulation and what are the temps expected to be tonight in your neck of the...
So tunneling it under the house is out of the question  ?
Maybe your neighbor or the condo can let you use their drive/lot (don't ask... just do :)) ?
Oh well  Pics or it didn't...

Worlds scariest sport!
If you have to ask, you're not likely not redneck enough for it
Seriously though they aint that bad to move around. Make some skids, weld up a couple of axles (convenient mounting points on...
Think Big.
Also, think Cheap.
You can get reclaimed 25 and 40 foot insulated steel shipping containers for pretty cheap.
Slap a couple of those together and you're good to go.
(Don't tell...

Unacceptable!!
This is a cool design and they do have a mechanical advantage.
Instead of acting like a lever, the angle of force produced by the lever arm makes the moment smaller (or non existent if it is used...
I believe 1 1/4 was right around where I was.
From what I found with all of my experiments is that soil conditions dictate how much you need. If you go too heavy-duty and too deep you have...
While you're at harbor freight, "Test Out" one of their bolt cutters on the metal hook on the one end :)
Built something very similar to this with just angle aluminum and wire cable.
Works GREAT in very loose soil and (as they mentioned) sand and snow (I didn't try mine in snow)
Good find!
(btw...
Honestly depends on the site.
Lots of roots are really tough to deal with. You can pull up the ground a bit (small small area).
I'd say a tent on the same site would have a much larger impact...
Do you carry one of those huge sand anchors for getting your jeep out if stuck (seen guys use them on the beach... never been to a desert so not sure if it would apply)...
Anyhow, you could use...
Wow I started reading this thinking it was going a totally different direction (based on the title)
really glad you like your new digs - sure looks great!
I'm super interested but this is an unlikely time for me (will have a new baby girl by then, and only just) - but with that said, lets see how things pan out :) :) (If the trip gets postponed a...
Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh That should help lots! :thumbup1:
If you put your mouth up against it can you blow through it at all?
If you put it over a bowl and pool water on it will it eventually seep through?
If not it is likely a pretty good vapor...
