It works great on the 2.2mm, I should have said it works ok on the 1.75mm, but it does work.

It works great, and $3 at walmart in the sewing section!
I use a $3 loop turner from wal-mart for all my splicing of amsteel and zing-it! Works great for me, I keep one in my pack with extra line for on the trail emergency fixes.
