+1 for both replies.
Mine look like that also.
Quick story:
When I first made a single amsteel 7/64 whoopie I took it to a friend's house and declared that it was "unbreakable".
So he...
Watch GrizzlyAdams's videos before choosing a replacement. It's well worth the 30 minutes, as he covers just about all the innovations over the past few years.

What type of "whipping tool" is that that you use? I'd like to get one.
I can't find anything with a folding eyelet like I see in the video. Everything I search for has a loop through a tube.
Go Michigan!!

What kind of sap?
For pine I think hand sanitizer disolves it.
I've used tire cleaner for maple sap but that might be too harsh for silnylon.
A stopper knot (or back up knot) is always a good idea with slippery rope and a great idea with any rope when one's life and limb is on the line.

Michigan can be very fun. See you all out on the trail.
Perhaps we should all just start voting for "the second most innovative HAMMOCK product this year"?
Looks like the gold is taken.
Although I might be a bit hasty, we'll have to see....
That's a good deal for sure, on that model.
Here is the manufacturer's site:

Welcome bowguy,
Again the representation of MI grows....
There are so many now, I'm going to keep my eye open this year for fellow hammockers out and about.
I'm not sure if you are asking:
a) do you need your parents permission?
or
b) are parents required to be with you, by the park, when you go?
The answer to "a" is obviously yes.
That was deep. Amen, Sir!
"...nothing that a really generous portion of duct tape wouldn't take care of..."
LOL!!
Fun review.
Hammock lighting is an import subject. I use one of these:

Perhaps this forum is just "our style"?

I'm from MI and a heavy lurker here.
Looks like we are swarming into this site recently.
Best wishes to all.

The poll lacks the option(s) "all of the above" or "wherever I may roam...".
Well said. I feel the same way and get strange looks when I explain to people that I try to blend in so the view is better for them.

Looks like it already happened.
Best to let us know beforehand.
I could have raised the attendance by one.
I've found the pictures in the reply by 'youngblood' under the Ridgeline Tension thread very useful.
It's about a HH, not a BMBH, but I think the logic is the same. The farther the trees are apart...
Pads inside a bottom entry asym hammock tend to 'corkscrew'. Meaning that as one places one's backside down and shifts one's weight in a circular montion the pad spins that way. Compensate by...
In other words, "respect gravity as gravity will not look out for you".
Great stand design.
Perhaps aluminum studs could be used to save weight?
I've never actually seen an aluminum stud, hence the thought posed as a question. Not sure if they are rectangular or...

That is the new design and not the Potomac, correct?
I'd really like to pick up a Potomac right now, as I have a Hennessy and the Michigan nights are going to be a bit nippy for a while, but the...

Perhaps it's time for all of us to advocate for hammocks in the various states where it's a problem. Outlining the low...

Don't forget to do a test set up before you head out.
Watch out for dead trees and dead hanging branches and most of all have fun. :)
4 is hardly even somewhat inclusive to the field of hammocking.
there are so many, it just makes me wonder if that mag is useless.
