I could make it for the 8th and 9th.
I have several nights with 19-22 deg lows so far Im just using a pad with a light sleeping bag to lay on and a heavy bag on top like a top quilt. I havent put anything in the pockets other than like...
I had to leave early as well but it was a good turn out. I got some good ideas for my guy lines, and had a good hang and a nice day hike.
...
Glad its not today the wind is just brutal!
Looking like it will be around 6 on friday before I get there. Save me a spot as well :)
Well Im going to have to leave Saturday afternoon. So I will try to be there as early as possible friday.
Is it ok to bring tent buddies?
LOL yeah I got 200 miles in on the motorcycle the 31st a bit windy but super nice. :)
Do we have anymore folks showing up now that its getting closer?
This is what Im using now as well. Ive gotten down to 24 with therma rest and using the patrol bag to lay on and the heavy bag as a top quilt. Havent gotten out the bivey bag yet. On the ground I...

My local Menards a home improvement store had the Niteizes on clearance they were on an end frame in the tool section. Not sure if it was all stores or just mine. They were around $2 each.
Just got a response they are fixing my mistake! Great service thanks again.
I ordered a speed sack and a book with paypal. I forgot to manually change the shipping address. Immediately after the order I emailed my mistake but haven't gotten a reply yet. Is this something...
Does this tarp come with a couple poles like in the picture?
Thanks for the giveaway! Congrats Korpl
I slept good again. I was not cold and I think I could go colder with the same set up but not a lot colder. Low 20's I think I would want a bit more insulation.
Looks comfy I think I need an inside hammock
Welcome from a bit farther north!
What are the Nite izes S biners for?
Thanks I just ordered one.
3rd night test. Will be low of 26 tonight. Going to use the thermarest the thin layer of the military sleep system on top of the thermarest and the thicker bag of the military sleep system as a top...

Thanks I ordered one will come in handy for scouts. It was free shipping too.
Yeah that will be good to be close to the cars, I'm probably going to pack lots of stuff since I do not know what I'm doing and I like being warm.
Lets all write the magazine and tell them to send Shug his swag. Like pronto!
Yeah the way my luck goes it will be -10 that weekend lol. Im going to get some more practice before then. I have a good yard for sleeping.
Thanks Shug I watched 9 of your videos the other day but I guess it didnt all sink in. I just watched the tarp one again, maybe I had the shock part confused because you used it on the tie outs. ...
The hammock is on the stock Clark rope, whoopie slings are on my list along with some other stuff but I have to pace myself.
I draped it over then tied a prussic knot to the eyelet on each end so I could tighten the tarp over the line. I had thought that the prussic would act like a drip line but I really dont know.
Well I hung my tarp for the first time last night it was windy and rainy about 38 for a low. I had 40 ft piece of shock cord that I used for my ridge line. I tied one end off and ran the other to...
Just got in on the second link with coupon thanks for the great tip!
Im in thanks!
Im in thanks.
Had a great night! Was warm and comfortable. Wife is affraid Im not going to go back to the bed LOL. Now I need a night with a low of 30.
Ok so your thinking a two night deal. What time on Fri to meet up?
Well I have the hammock strung up out side. Set up the tarp for the first time. Used a shock cord ridge line at first but it sagged too much so I swapped it out for 550 cord. Its currently 42 deg,...
I am interested in this as well I have 2 camping trips planned for Jan and no underquilt yet. Im doing some practice runs to see what works.
Welcome and check out the group hang section for an up coming KC area hang.
Tomorrow looks like 45 high 40 low with 70% of rain. Im planning on sleeping in the back yard will probably use same set up.
I have a little loop at the top of my pad that I clipped to the loop at the top of the hammock. Keeps it from sliding down. I think 50-60 you wouldnt need a pad at all, but Im still figuring out...
Well I have my Clark NX250 all set up in the garage. Im new to the cold weather stuff and am getting ready for a few Jan weekend trips. I just woke up from my first whole night and it went great. ...
I just set up in my basement garage. For the head end I used an existing hole that was drilled in the floor joist. I strung webbing through the hole twice and tied a water knot. Used a beaner on...
Sorry didnt see the other thread when I was looking around.
Thanks Im in too!
Well I just got my hammock! I hung it in the garage it took forever to get what seems like the right adjustment on the suspension lines. I have watched Shugs videos and want to get the whoopie...
I should be able to get off that weekend. If this gets nailed down for sure I can put in for it.
Yeah I went to order some but both styles were sold out for us big feet guys.
