Agreed, a lot of the state parks won't let you hang. Some of em will, depends on the local rangers I think. Likewise with private campgrounds. I've been to some that will allow hanging and others...
2nd installment of my In the Land of Ishi trips. This time to the southern river in the wilderness, Deer Creek. Solo, long weekend trip.
This is my first attempt at filming and editing, and i very...
Hey Fronkey, Welcome to California. Thousand Lakes Wilderness, Caribou Wilderness, Ishi Wilderness, 2-4 hours north of you.
Yep, That was/is the plan Red, just haven't gotten around to it. I'm a little scared about trying to sew a tab onto the new, was thinking glue grosgrain then hole. But if you just holed straight...
I have to be thankful that my wife lets me squeeze in these quick little weekend trips close to home. With my 12 hour workdays, our 2 kids and jammed full weekends, she'd be well within her wifeular...
I finally just exchanged the Atmos for a Kestrel.
For future info, the Kestrel is still in production, however the 58 and 68 L are not sold in the US. Which is where the miscommunication may have...
Not cheap... the Atmos actually a little more expensive. Kestrel has some features that I really wanted, ie pull out pack cover, and external bladder slot, and a little better design i think.
Have you shared this on other forums? If not mind if i share it?
One of the best presentations I've seen. I look forward to more!
Yep. That's it. The local shop said out of production, once, twice. I still don't believe them.
No thanks. I recently bought this pack while wanting a Kestrel, the local shop said discontinued... /shrug.
Mostly looking for a straight across, thanks though
I would like to make a straight across trade.
For trade : Osprey Atmos 50, Large. Grey color.
Want: Osprey Kestral 48+, Large.
Please let me know if anyone is interested. My Atmos is in new...
Im planning another trip to Ishi Wilderness in California this summer. Summer temps in these parts is 105-110f during up coming months. Gonna be hot as blazes, but I work outside everyday in these...
Same here, just ordered a grey lock 3, and it showed up in like 2 days!
Quick, great service, great product.
I'm 6'3" 250, Ive had no problems with my SBPro, just upgrade the suspension, add a ridge line and learn how to string it properly and there should be no problem.
Comparatively both the WBBB and...
Ill take the Burrow!
I have a question, semi off subject. I just bought a JRB Greylock 3...what is the one-sided tab/tie out for? One on each side, i could probably figure out, but with only one side having a loop of...
State of Jefferson! I need to get my license plate frame on!
I was just up in Manno's neck of the woods, one of my favorite places, much cooler than death hole valley Redding in the summer.
I...
Got a bit of Bushcraftin in. My buddy Keith's first ever attempt at flint and steel. I attribute his swift success to an outstanding teacher! Oh yea! ...
When you take in the scope, and unforgiving terrain of the area, you begin to understand just how Ishi and his people remained the last "wild" native holdouts in North America.

Overnight : Ishi Wilderness, far northern California.
This trip was a overnight, access scouting mission in preparation for future exploration into this vast and temperamental, 41,000 acre...
I just ordered a new river with the 4 season upgrade, probably don't need it, but why not, eh?
I look forward to testing it in as low temperatures as I can find!
I am a transient from BCUSA, so my trips are usually off trail into Wilderness areas where it is unlikely I will ever see another person unless I bring them, or I'm still at the trailhead/parking...
