I have 2 ENO bug nets, and 3 of there hammocks. There a little on the heavy side I have since found lighter weight bug net but there a general use net not specifically for hammocks. I bought a box...
The ENO bug net can be set up on the ground if you have something to tye to or even just thrown over you for temporary protection.
Slap Straps do not streach.
Well, I'm jealous, I've had my ENO DN for maybe a year, it's been on several backpacking trips and I've tried to sleep in it a bunch of times in my yard. I can't get the thing dialed in right, I...
Me either, I'm about the same size you are. I'm going to continue using them.
Lol, me either. I use mine on my ENO.
I have left mine on all three of my ENO hammocks.
So how many pounds are you guys saving with these modifications your making to an already light hammock? Yes, I'm being a smart a##.
If your interested in the warranty you might want to check that also before doing any modification.
I wouldn't "cut" the original rope if your going to do this. It's untied easy enough, then you can use it for something else or keep it for back up if you should ever need it.
This is a good point, and because of this point I will never change the rope in my ENO DN, or any of my other ENO's. A few ounces saved is not worth the cost of changing them or the safety risk. ...
Slo is right about condensation with the tarp space blanket I suggested in my other post. But I havent had a problem with condensation only using the tarp/blanket as an underquilt, I have had problem...
This is going to be my next project, I don't know how to do this yet but im going to try to figure it out. Poncho liners a great to have in your pack.
For the kind of money for any of the UQ's I would find something else to use. And that's not mentioning the bulk and unnessary weight.
I've never had one of the over priced hammocks and I never will pay that kind of money for one. I love my ENO DN. There never has been a problem with EN hammocks. I havent cut the sides down either.
I would use my hammock as a bivy if I had to.
O.k. I understand now thank you, I will keep this in mind, its a really good idea. I can see how that would help tremendously with the wind. I only go out in the cooler months here in Florida so I...
Warmer tarp blanket is a lot cheaper than a real UQ and a lot lighter and it is also multi use. There wind proof and water proof, also a lot less bulk and weight to have to carry. warmer.com I think...
From the pictures I don't understand what your talking about. The first picture it looks like maybe you folded the tarp over?? What end is closed up??
I havent had that much problems with the slap straps either. I hang my hammock any way I can, sometimes I have a couple of feet from the tree. I always set my straps as high as I can. I don't ever...
I going to try this, sounds like a good idea.
Could it be a taunt line hitch maybe? But that's a knot.
I make my own Prusick knots and biners to hang stuff from if I need it.
I use a Warmer blanket/tarp for an UQ. It works good but you have to do some simple modifications to it.
I have ENO DN ive never noticed the seams when sleeping in mine. The DN is more comfy than than the SN.
I just use my backpack, why carry more gear than you need to. Make use of what you have.
I use the evil ENO slap straps so I hang as high as I can but leave some slack. Usually a little above head high.
There is nothing intro about ENO hammocks, they are just as good as the over priced hammocks. Some people just don't want to pay for a name, some people know quality AND price matters. I could say...
Maybe one day I'll decide to check out why everybody keep complaining about the straps and get something different like the woopie slings. I would like to change the carabiners, but I don't see the...
Good pics, looks like a nice place to hang.
How come I don't notice any sag with the Slap Straps? I haven't tried anything else I guess maybe that's the reason.
Welcome, I'm a little south of you, I'll hang in the shade in my yard but I stay off the trails until it starts cooling off. I hate Florida summers.
Check out the ENO Double Nest.
I think I finally got an underquilt for my new ENO DN. I used my warmers space blanket and a separate ridge line to clip the grommets to and a prusik knot loop off of the ridge line, it worked pretty...
I'm jealous, where did you find it, I hope online somewhere so I can get me one.
I slept pretty good in my new ENO DN, I think I might be able to use this hammock. I've got a couple of ideas to use my warmer blanket tarp for an underquilt type of set up to keep wind and some rain...
I gave up on my modification, but not the idea, the HH's are out of my price range, I went and bought at the advise of other's on this forum an ENO Double Nest and have slept extreamly well in it for...
I gave up on my modification, I'm either not going to have a hammock to camp in or I'm going to have to figure out what kind of hammock I need to sleep on my side and where to get one that I can...
Well,,,, I kinda got busy with life and forgot all about the conversion of my single nest eno for a while, I still don't have a clue what to use for spreader bars what I tried didn't work at all. I...
Has anybody tried bank line for suspension? It would have to be braided together to be strong enough.
I have to sleep on my side, I have an ENO single, I've since learned that I should have bought a "Bridge " hammock because I can't sleep on my side in this hammock. I think I'm going to try to modify...
I'm a newby to these forums so I'm hoping this is the correct thread to post my question. I have used a net hammock for a lot of years just for an afternoon snooze. I needed a new tent so I decided...
I'm a newby here in these forums and this my first post, I'm in St. Augustine Fl. and I like the idea of Ocala unless this is going to be held in one of the pay area's. I only go primitive camping....
