That is exactly what I am wanting to build, great job. Thanks. I checked out the link to the place you got the fittings from and they want over $100 just for the shipping of the fittings to Canada. I...

I might have to look into it a bit more. Thanks
Yes I have looked at them, they are pretty cool but don't they need tie outs to an anchor in the ground on each end. The thing I really like about the Hammeck design is that it is totally free...
It's been awhile since I have posted here but I have always lurked in the shadows from time to time. I have been scouring this site as well as the net to find an easy to build, easy to store, and...
I have been searching Canada for some time now looking for a place to buy an underquilt for my HH. I had my eye on the Potomic but with the canadian dollar so crappy for some time now it was crazy...
Now you have to make one of these

Christmas was awsome. My son and I finished off hammock system by getting gifts of a hex tarps and down filled hammock pillows. And I cashed in on HH Christmas deal and bought the wife a explorer zip...
I'll buy that. Sounds logical. Thanks
I just read this whole thread and there is some very good info here. To start off I have learned more about insulation in the last hour than I knew before so forgive me if this is a stupid question....
Yep, just received mine today, the hh2o set was a bonus that I wasn't expecting. Bought the explorer for my wife and the 9 yr old daughter will love the cub. She just asked yesterday if she could get...
Exactly what I thought when I heard thermorest was making hammocks
Congrats, she does look happy, and comfy. I hope my wife (and my daughter) has a smile on her face like that on Christmas morning
Check out the first post on the below link. Is that what you are talking about

So would this pattern work for the HH explorer deluxe zip also or are the measurements (size)different from the HHUL
I assume you watched the video on how to install the potomic UQ. There is some good info on there for what you are asking.

I will be watching this thread with excitement as I have 4 HH to underquilt. Sorry I have absolutly nothing to help you out with but I am after the same thing you are.
I am always looking for a cheap way to make underquilts. I love the DIY stuff but it does take time and skills with a sewing machine, neither of which I have much of. I would love to be able to just...
Sweet project. I have scoured the net looking for a canadian eddie bauer store but found nothing. The shipping and exchange make stuff like this not so good of a deal for us north of the border. I...
Thats a great diy project and the price is right for the quilt.
Just ordered a explorer zip and hex tarp for my wife for Christmas from HH and they had a killer deal. Buy a HH hamock worth $148 and over and receive a cub zip hammock and 2 sets of snakeskins...
Thats awsome. My 14 yr old son and I got into hanging this summer and we are hooked. Made buying christmas presents for him real easy this year.
OK can someone school me on this tyvek thing! Are you guys using house wrap?????
thats cool, nice job, and I like your hammock stand!!!
Holy crap. The weight capacity of those hammocks must be huge to be able to hold the weight of those guys b--ls.
So how do you like the 90 x 156. I have one on it's way right now and wondered if I should have gotten the 60 x 132. I am 6'2" and 265#
If you look close in the pictures I have a continuous ridgeline and the tarp is prussiced to the ridgeline. I still like the way the cat cut tarps look like they pitch tighter.
Good on ya FJRPilot and Zilla. I am new to this hammock stuff so maybe I have no right to say this in the first place, but I have to agree with you.
That is a great deal but even with the huge 40%...
Holy crap!!! thats some sweet work. Wish i had the skills to do that with my wifes sewing machine.
Thanks guys I will check them out
Picked up a couple grand trunk ulta lite hammock from amzon for $20. Not much to them but they are still comfy. They are only rated for 250# so I am a bit skeptical at 265# when I am in them, but...
I tried my Mountain Equipment Co-op guide tarp out with my hh exp deluxe and it worked not bad. the only thing I didn't like was how tight it pitched. It is a rectangle tarp so I can't get it to...
I have a HH explorer deluxe and am wanting to upgrade to a better tarp. Been looking at the HH hex fly but I just noticed that it actualy has a shorter ridgeline (132") than the stock tarp (137"). I...
I tried to buy one the other day buy being from Canada it wouldn't let me, even if I logged into amazon.com with my amazon.ca info. No deals like that in canada
Gotta love this place. Thats awsome
Goes to show you how much I know about austrailia.....I didn't think you got snow there. One of the best things I like about the canadian north is you can usualy see whats going to kill you because...
Wish I would have seen this video before I spent the time building what I did. Much smaller and easier. Could just extent the poles to hang the tarp

Thats awsome can't wait to see this come together. Im with you on the canadian winters.......I love them. But that feeling goes away after about 5 months into it. The anticipation for snow to cover...
Yeah I followed the same video. I has done 1/4" amsteel left over from when I swapped out my quad winch cable so I made the below slings. The eyes are locking Brummell hitch(I think that's what it is...
Here's where I got mine
http://www.mec.ca/shop/?q=smc%20descending%20rings
Lol. Now that you mention it' I do need some help around here. Hmmmm
I like that idea better than mine. Looks a lot cleaner. What size amsteel is that. I have some 1/8" on order that should be here any day. Did you have to put some stitches in the whipped end so they...
Heres a better shot. The plasma is above everything on the wall. On the floor is the tube bender, band saw, hydraulic pack for my tube bender and log splitter, and the welder. The othe picture is my...
Yeah. I designed it so that the longest 4x4 I would need is 6'6" so that I could lay them into the back of my truck box. The bottom one and the two uprights are still 8 feet and I will cut them down...
I thought about the whoopies but I realy like the way it is now, maybe in the future, who knows. I plan on getting a hex fly also and hanging it seperate to but for now I will have to do with the...
I have my hammock set up in the garage and slept in it last night because my back has started giving me some grief the last couple days. Woke up this morning pain free but the agrivating pain is back...
Today I modified the suspension line on my HH Explorer. I like the simplicity of the webbing and rings and not having all that rope attached to the hammock. I left the stock rope on and just tied a...
Well here it is. Definatly NOT as nice or as light as Thumbs but it works great. I haven't cut down the 4x4's yet because I am still testing to see where it is the most comfortable and once I figure...
Wow. That would be awsome. Thanks. I love this site
No, I agree about the netting, but something that sleeps like the asym design. I find it very comfortable.
Thats a cool set up, nice work. Looks very comfy
