I love that gray. Looks like my Charcoal Gray Winter Haven tarp.
A little more "bluish" but could be the light.

Not sure if this would help the tension issue, but I was sewing some last night and decided to use the reinforced straight stitch. Three lines end to end spaced about 1/4" and it's solid. It's easy...
One month into a shipment now. Getting worried.
The tree does save some line. I don't carry much. But if the tree is a big diameter, then you screwed yourself.
Here's a typical setup for me, about 14-15' spacing. Maybe I'll start taking eye...
Even at a 15' distance, that doesn't leave me with enough room to get a stake. The trunk/roots won't allow. Staking to the side gives it a dirty sloppy setup. So I just wrap around the tree.
Dec 8 from an ebay seller, still nothing. But thanks for the info, gives me some hope! Not worried because of insurance, but just getting impatient.
I'd get some government cheese and park that baby down by the river.
Yeah I was camping the Gaylord area a few days ago, about 5". Enough to feel like winter and pull the toboggan so that was nice. Need to get that lake effect machine going!
I don't know what's going on. The last "good winter" I remember was 2014. Sure, locals can say "the other day it was 2° for a high", but the consistency just isn't there. I used to pick a day on the...
LOL!!! "Developed recreation site" to me is a place best avoided at all costs.
I'm pretty sure I disturb all trees and shrubs every time I pee on them. I better start bottling it up.
No kidding! I can't nail two boards together.
Level: next
After dealing with these quite a bit on my hot tent, I would not be afraid to make my own for a tarp as long as I knew how long they should be. Very easy to cut and make yourself.
December 22 shown in that image was the first update since the 14th, so I kind of gave up. But it's insured so I'm not too worried.

The stoves are to the point where a bunch of manufacturers are just copying, sometimes improving, upon the others. Ebay, Amazon, etc.
He put up a video talking about it. Possibly two sides to the story as usual. Hopefully they can both move on.
He said the tent was his design. If it is, it's funny to see the defense Onetigris...

Revisiting this for some info from anyone that has a down allergy. What does it look like on your skin? Is it even visible? Did you have it from the first use or did it pop up after several uses, or...
Someone posted about this recently. I mentioned my concern about the roof shedding snow. Once that material gets wet it sags a lot. A lot. You know how a small tarp gets, imagine this. Just speaking...
I am one but there are several of us. Just got back from a 3-nighter, burning that stove almost 24 hours a day :)
More car camping. But the pulk will be out in a few weeks!

Thanks, that's probably the case here.
I can't imagine staying dry while breathing inside a nylon coffin all night. But I definitely need to try if it's working for some.
I have a package sitting in NY since Dec 8. I wonder when I start to worry?
I have 4 packages in limbo, nothing too important but I was planning before christmas.
Meanwhile, the Amazon guys have been tearing it up. They just started delivering in my area with the vans...
For me they're only good for handling troublesome cold feet in a pinch. And nice for a knagaroo pocket during the day to warm hands and keep phone/electronics warm.
But anymore I find it easier to...
Dynaweave! I never head of that. I'll need to check that out some more.
I'm confused too. I think the next step is to try the VB liner again up to my neck. I did try some VB clothing (suit) but it wasn't cold enough to wear that - only around 30° outside. But that's a...
Some simple things that could get missed during a brain fart: make sure the presser foot is up while you're threading (so the tension discs are released). And make sure the bobbin is rotating in the...
I was going to say forget the box. All you need are a few nice thick lines of stitching (just copied from some Warbonnet straps I had).
But it seems like that may not help since everything here...
I thought there would have to be moist air though. The air inside my home right now is stupid dry from the heat running so much (and whole-house humidifier broke). But there's no condensation on the...
Yes I still want to give that another try. I had the same water beading along the stitching, so I assume that's moisture coming from my body and not breath just settling. My only thought is there was...
I haven't tried an emergency blanket but that was sort of the idea with my fleece blanket. Maybe I'll try that next time, or some kind of material other than fleece.
LOL vehicle storage. That's part of the reason why I went with the smaller Smokehouse Outfitter I. And the slightly heavier 1.9 fire-retardant material. It feels more robust for winter and seems to...
A lot different, believe me. These "cabins" sag like crazy when damp. If you want to rely on tapping snow off thru the night, I guess. Not high on my list of things to do while sleeping though.
...
I was joking about this the other day with some friends. But then started to realize the price. $161 shipped after discount.
But then, how are you going to support snow on that huge roof? And...
I don't mind sleep gear...except for the Tychem suit I tried as a vapor barrier

Way too warm for the 30° temp at the time.
I considered this but wanted more of a traditional setup for a big tarp and not the counter-balance deal.
I love this bipod setup:...
I've used the back of my hatchet, but usually after digging underneath a lot of snow it's good enough to push in with a stick or something hard...not just by bare thumb.
I think so. Strange it seemed to start one day out of the blue after years of hanging. And it's not just a cup but up to a liter of exhaled moisture per night. That's about FOUR cups. Crazy but...
I still find stakes easier, no matter the snow depth. Well, a couple feet anyway. I just dig down and put the stake in as usual. If it's really frozen, it only needs 2" maybe to grab. Too much and it...
Shug stream, SN8 launch...fun youtube day. Good idea finally canceling my TV service.
I was warm, not wet inside but I could feel a big hit in loft. I dried it by the stove and went back to bed since it was early...I'll let you finish that
Just the top quilt. Damp foot box all over and rest of the top.
Fleece blanket over the TQ = still damp but not terrible. I was in my hot tent again this time (I don't burn all night). Lows around 25° from about 32° at bed time.
Still can't bring myself to use...
Your package is moving within the USPS network and is on track to be delivered to its final destination. It is currently in transit to the next facility. It will arrive when we feel like it.
Hard to beat! I use my iphone reminder almost every day for random little things.
p.s. I enjoyed the podcast you were on recently. Put a good dent in my 4 hr drive.
