If you are sure you will be using your hammock a lot I would highly recommend an under quilt that spans the whole length of the hammock so you stay warm on chilly nights

1. Creates more of a cocoon like feel
2. Less clutter inside the hammock

This is the setup I use on my Hensessy Ultralight with my woopie slings. Works great and is easy to set up. Only downside is they are easily lost on the trail

It could just be a matter of adjusting your hammock. If your body is more comfortable sleeping on the ground listen to it, but that doesn't mean you have to give up hammocking entirely!
