That's GREAT! I'm glad I helped you decide.
Yeah, you have to be a member. Then you click on either the "Yes" at the bottom of the review, or the up arrow above the number next to my avatar (that is the number of votes).
I would encourage...
Here's my Trailspace review on DH's DangerBird.
http://www.trailspace.com/gear/dream-hammock/dangerbird/?review=31012
BTW, the more votes this review receives the higher DangerBird will appear...
You're dismissing this without looking at all the buzz on these bags. http://www.trailspace.com/gear/ozark-trail/cocoon-200/?review=30504
And here's the one I bought and modified into a TopQuilt....
I'm in! I'm in! I'm in!
Thanks for the generosity!!! :D
Just to clarify, "Bah Humbug" belongs to Ebeneezer Scrooge. Grumpy the Dwarf, just kind of huffed.
So how do we order one of these sets?
Thanks for the great product, Peter Pan!
That's what I figured, but thought I'd ask.
Very nice of you to do this. I'm in.
I'm the opposite...use to LOVE REI. But the more I get into niche camping (i.e., hammocks & Ultralight), the less I find they can offer me. I went in one day looking for a tarp, and all they could...
I generally do both, without problem. I would recommend either using a top quilt or opening up your sleeping bag and using like a quilt. That makes it much easier to toss and turn, so to speak.
I'll echo the Zing It crowd.
Wow! Just wow!
The quality is amazing. If my GrandTrunk was a Honda, then my DangerBird is a BMW.
Bingo! That's what I needed to know. Thanks!
Out of curiosity, how would the DangerBird perform in the rain if I didn't pitch a tarp? I'm not really planning on trying it, but I am wondering...
Extra juicy? ;)
What did you mean by misjudging the size of the opening? Are you talking about venting with one of the zippers?
Mother Goose bought this guy his very own DangerBird for Christmas, and I am one happy hanger! :D This hammock is sooooooooooo much better than my GrandTrunk or my kids' ENOs.
I've only taken it...
Thank you!
Can anyone fill me in on the benefits of becoming a donating member?
In answer to my question, I'm now using the DangerBird, and I've discovered width doesn't matter.
I'm asking the Mrs. for a DH Thunderbird for Christmas. Randy gives a huge range of width. Will going wider effect the performance of my JRB Greylock 3?
Trail Medic, have you tried this in cold weather? I can see the underside being nice and warm, but there seems to be a ton of air space above you that your body would need to heat.
That's a bit of an exaggeration. There are a lot of variables (i.e., type of rope; knot you've tied). But when it comes to any knot used for climbing, the only knot that gets that low is a bowline....
My first straps were simply ratcheting tie down straps from my local Wally-world. I just took the straps out of the racheting part and learned how to tie Marlin hitches.
I eventually went to...
I'd be tempted, but if I understand their chart correctly, my 198lb body would be pushing the limit of a 1.0oz single layer hammock.
A buddy and I broke camp on Saturday morning. My tree straps left no marks. His ropes left a visible groove in the bark. I was tactful, but I kept thinking, "Did he just kill that tree?"
What do you mean "nothing else will lay like the clark?" How is the lay different?
I may just need to borrow my buddy's and try it out for myself.
That's a nice looking hammock. Ignorant question here, but I'm assuming you need a tarp in addition to weather shield in steady rain?
I'm very much a newbie when it comes to hammock camping. I've done multiple backyard hangs throughout the winter. I spent a week in March on the River2River Trail with my GT Skeeter Beater, Tarp &...
I was considering a similar setup until someone pointed out to me that if you're "wearing" your tarp, how do you hang your hammock in the rain? Same goes for accessing your pack to get at food, etc.
Great idea. I've been sleeping in my SB (not the Pro) flipped over for the winter. The other day I tried to just clip the tieouts to my ridgeline, but the netting fell into my face. This is a nice...
Your specs on the Grand Trunk SBP are wrong. The non-pro version is only 250lbs, but that model has been discontinued (You can still pick them up at campmore.) The Pro version is 400lbs.
No--I...
Thank you!
Where are you getting the $7 bug net? I just picked up 2 ENO RestNests dirt cheap for my Cub Scouting boys, and I need to find an inexpensive bug option.
Also, what kind of material are you using...
Hi Dennis! Loved your video.
My hiking buddy, MuhKeeTa (He's not a hammock hanger. So he's not on this forum) shares your same hearing loss. He's completely deaf in one ear and relies on a...
