Last years trip report is right here.
Hello Sailcat, welcome to the group.
Welcome from next door, hope to see you at the next LA group hang.
Thanks for the input Kat, keep the ideas coming, but I agree with Squid that we should focus in on the backpacking aspect of the alky stoves as that’s what we do unless we’re at some group’s annual...
Well last year all we looked at was how fast can your system boil 8oz of water. So imagine being the guy or girl that everyone points to and say’s, they boiled a cup of water in 8.3 seconds! So what...
I don’t remember the time, but I do know DD holds bragging rights for now.
I want to let it be known right now that I have a new contender for the alcohol, one cup (8oz) water boil contest.
Well that weekend load her and the kids up and discuss it on the way over.
It's a good 3 1/2 hour for me too, but it's worth it, and it looks like it's going to be even bigger this year.
Remember function is what you are after. Not sure how you feel about it but if I make something, I don't want it to looks like it came off an assembly line. I want it to have character, so what if...
Wait till you hear the one about a fishing trip this spring with a half pound cricket I found and caught me a 16 pound bream. OK, maybe it was only 15 and a half, I do tend to exaggerate a little bit.
Holy smokes brother, you got me under pressure now. :scared:
Bringer we didn't think you were a zombie they can move, we thought you were just plain DEAD! And DD that turkey story, as wild as it may have sounded that was the bone-a-fided truth.
I'll be coming in Friday, should be there after lunch.
OK, my speak is, ANYTIME after 11/12/2015 is good by me.
Scar Face said he is aware but just hasn’t seen the need to chime in yet.
Sqidbilly looks like you and I are on the same time card. But I need to make a change to my date, I was a day off. It's, can't do before the 12th. I will contact Scar Face tomorrow to inform him of...
Love to be there again, but can't do anything before November 13th.
Welcome to the club.
I remember a while back there was a poll done on this subject, and to the best I can remember it was like 27% said they did feet left. Maybe someone that is good a finding old information like that...
No, I'm across the river at the other place.
Welcome aboard, I've stayed at the landing several times for an over night'er. I like having that comfort station close by.
Got my eye on this.
Sasquach spit, now that's a good one.
I like that look, it shows that you are one that does get out there. I’m proud of all the battle scares my equipment carry.
With your injector skills that thing will be great.
Had a rip in my UQ and used some stunt kite repair tape. Got it at http://www.dynakite.com/store/cart.php?m=product_detail&p=895 I figured if that stuff will stay on my kites ripping thru the air a...
All outings provide memories but some memories are better than others, and if it wasn’t for the trips that didn’t go to good we wouldn’t appreciate the great ones as much. I’m sure we can all relate...
I have made a change to my setup, thanks for watching G rat. The loops are now both the same size. The head to foot off set is done with long and short loopies on the hammock's. So if you don't like...
Welcome from way down south.
That is one fine looking tarp. Good Job!
Very nice, I like that. My buddy scar face has been working on an idea like that, I'll have to show him this. And as he is a bow hunter I know he has the hardware.
Thanks for all the input everyone, ya'll have probably answered all the questions I would have had when I get one.
WOW! that is long, does it require a custom tarp to cover it all or do you leave some of the suspension past the edges of the tarp? If so how do you handle rain running down the lines?
What is the distance between the buckles when setup. Iím doing a little research to see if it will work with the single line suspension setup I have now or will I need to make another one for it.
I'm 5' 11" 160lb with Adams bug net mod with the strap reinforcement if you make a line with loops on each end you can use it under the net and swap it around for net less setup.
Just ordered me another one, thanks for the info.
That was a great idea! And a very good job of it also.
Did that to mine, best mod for a SB. Welcome aboard Chum.
Just saw the weather report predicting a flood watch for Saturday so being on the creek may be a bad idea. Sorry for late cancellation but I was hoping the weather man was going to...
I knew you lived up that direction somewhere. I was hoping you might stop by for at least a handshake and a little gear talk.
Good job on the trim, looks very professional. Welcome to the addiction of DIY.
I was wondering if you realized how far that was for you for just one night. We'll catch up together another time, when we have more time.
No big thing, like I said before that's a heck of a drive for just a over-night'er. All that counts is that we get out there and do it regardless of where it's at!
Man it’s good to be back home. Come on 27th I need some hanging in the woods rejuvenating.
I'll be out of touch for the next 8 days so don't be looking for any quick reply's if someone ask me something.
bog, I hope that maybe turns into a I’ll see you there. And if so, don’t forget the ukie. jukhntn, yes it’s only a one day for me, but that would be a heck of a drive for only one night (I hate...
Date is correct, this is for December. I just wanted to get it out there in plenty of time so folks could think about it.
There are now more gulf coast hangers (would that be anything south of Hattiesburg???) than when I started a couple of years ago. So I thought it would be nice if we (and anyone else that wants to...
Keep in mind that this is thanksgiving week but, I ordered 2 pounds and a few extra ounces of down Monday night and had it in my hand Friday morning. That is service A+ plus.
