I'm a year in and still using the piece of junk I bought from walmart, not UQ or TQ, just a cheap sleeping bag and a ccf pad from walmart for 6 ducks...all in all tho, i sleep very comfortable
seems ideal, i'll probably start hanging my hammock about that high
can you put a spreader bar in any hammock...say an ENO dbl?
I need some info on Little Tybee...i posted a thread about it but couldnt find much info...have you been there before? i Know it is an inhabitated island...but i wish i could find more info on it,...
Youngblood, each time you post it sounds better and better, I can't wait to get there.
And what about a fire? Doenst seem like anyone would care if you have a fire a couple hundred feet off the trail as long as its controlled and cleaned up in the morning
thanks alot for the info, this helps out a ton. I had read where you had to pay for parking but I could not find out where or how it worked. I'm excited, it sounds like this trail has a variety of...

yeah sounds like a good idea...and i always practice leave no trace.
I know all cumberland has on it is a welcome center, a main dirt road, and three or so campsites. It has wild horses and what not. No fires on cumberland though and you have to take a 17 dollar...

haha yeah, I'm off at college right now, so every time I go home I mess with my hammock some in the back yard, my next trip should be Panther Creek the second weekend of March
yeah, well I'm in Georgia, so I didn't need to much winter gear, so I made it out on Jan 3rd and once in someone's back yard in Dec. , so it hasn't been too long now, just can't wait for those...
I know their has to be others of yall out there that can't stand not having the time to go on a camping trip. I cant wait for spring break or a free weekend to hit the trail for a night or two. I...
just make sure you take your pad...it makes a world of a difference to have some sort of under insulation...with out it you'll freeze.
yeah, i dont see why you wouldn't be alright
If it doenst get below 20, with a 25 degree bag, liner, and foam pad, with some warm clothes like thermals you should be fine. You will probably need to sleep with some good wool socks, face mask,...
I like this idea, thread titles don't always say what part of the country their in, ie. if some one just puts a state park or trail head name.
how cold is it supposed to be?
I bet if you set up a tent on campus they wouldn't say anything...their is no liability in that...it sounds like the whole problem is if he falls and gets hurt, not that they are scared he is going...
Yeah I think it's one of Georgia's barrier islands
Anyone know anything about Little Tybee Island? Its an unhabitated island right near Tybee in Savannah Ga. Supposely their are no camping restrictions and a lot neat wildlife. Just wondering if...

Rick, yeah I think I'm going to go get some climbing rated...
yeah I have been looking at the AHE suspenions, I'm just trying to do this as cheap as possible, even though the buckles with chain is only 25 after shipping, thats a fourth of a new tarp I need,...
Okay so I have an ENO DBL and I want to get rid of the heavy biners for two reasons, their heavy and I don't like having to guess where to tie a knot in my webbing to hook the biners too.
So...
I don't know where you'll be camping, but if you're going to be in the south most of the time during the summer you won't need much insulation. For chilly nights a down blanket or a sleeping bag...
hey i was wondering if any one is a member to www.theclymb.com and would like to invite me. I want to see if they have any tarps or hammocks ever on sale.
