Awesome, I'll get it out tomorrow.
~Eric~
I'm looking to move this, so feel free to E-mail me with reasonable offers.
I really don't have any gear needs at this time, so I probably don't need any trades.
I'm about the same size as you, and a side sleeper, it's a bit snug. I'm afraid it might not suit you if you're uncomfortable in a mummy bag. It's a fantastic piece of kit otherwise. When opened up,...
It's an original Speer Peapod, so I figure it conforms to these specs.

I'll have photos up soon, I need to put it out of the gear closet where it's hanging in a mesh bag in a cedar lined closet.
I have a Speer Peapod - I've not used it in over a year, and I honestly...
Um, didn't this one happen - last winter?
Jesse, in the 2011 Frozen Butt Hang, I used a Backwoods Daydreamer Winter Tarp pinned down like an A-frame. Then I shoveled snow up the first 6-12" of the tarp. With the doors overlapped, I only had...
Wow, sounds like you guys had a rough time.
Due to work, it looks like I'm stuck and can't leave for this weekend. I'm super pissed considering all the snow that's supposed to be coming in this weekend...I was hoping to try out my new...
I just got back from a weekend in Kankakee IL with the fiance and dogs. The dogs didn't take well to the cold unfortunately, but the fiance loved the trip.
I'm still trying to find someone to...
I talked to my boss. He gave me that Friday off so I can get up there anytime and not have to rush out after work like I'm doing this weekend for a local camp.
I also have Monday off, but I could...
Air gaps might not have been easily visible. I've had the edges of the UQ all cinched up and tight, but trapped a bubble of cold air between my butt and the UQ. I solved that by adding some extra...
I'm still in...I need to find somewhere/someone to watch the Pit Bull for the weekend. I'm thinking these temps won't be good for her.
But then again, the way the weathers been the past two...
I've never owned any of te-wa's quilts, but seen some in person. Good stuff.
I'll probably have to give them a jingle tomorrow during normal business hours if I can get a few minutes away from work.
Welco....Oh, it's YOU...
Well, they let just anybody in here don't they?!?
Anyways...we'll get you hooked up here in these forums. Lots of gear hounds and guys who like to try out everything...
PM sent on the Flash
I have a friend from Zombie Squad who wants to get into hammocking. I think he might even be looking to hammock this January. I'm a terrible influence on him, because my suggestion always is "just...
Hmm, I got excited about this...but the sale price is more than I would pay ordering stuff from several different online vendors. Even Bass Pro, which would have free shipping to the store (and...
LOL, I forgot I bought one of these, stowed it with the sewing machine, and did nothing with it. It's too cold to use it now, so I'll probably just convert it to a light weight TQ come spring.
Just remember to get the right side up when you hang it!
I was stuck, late at night, dark and dreary and raining...and very, very tired. I hung the tarp quickly not realizing I had it top-side...
I was going to post that, but I was told to no longer post The Clymb sales.
Meh.
Erg, I was just about to post the same WTB after reading through the other forums. a 40 year old NOS version of the stove just sold on eBay for $125. I should have grabbed that, but I left it for the...
I'm going to have to research this some...I've not seen the draw string thing.
Oh, it's just Aerogel. That's been around for a while. Just not cost effective.
I'm betting I speak for us all when I say that I for one would never turn someone away who was willing to winter camp! Tent, hammock, or...well, I guess I'd be mighty disappointed if you showed up in...
Absolutely beautiful!
OK, I'll upgrade my pulk setup to include poles.
It looks like Zombie Squad is doing a Winter gear test Jan 7-8 in Kankakee, then doing a "mock bug-out" Jan 21-22 or there abouts up in Kettle...
What's the terrain like there? Flatland or Hilly? You might not need poles if this is flatland. For the Frozen Butt hang I just ran some rope through a military pack belt, then looped it through some...
Thanks for that.
I'm trying to round up some friends to go, but all these guys who wanted to try winter camping suddenly have lots of excuses. So it will probably just be me.
Wow, I'd sure like to keep up the Frozen Butt hang tradition, but this Frozen Cheese hang is 5 hours CLOSER than the Minnesota hang.
As awesome as the Frozen Butt hang was, saving 10 hours round...
Since the Wisconsin hang is about 5 hours closer, and I'm not sure I can get two 3-day weekends in the same month, I might only be able to do the WI hang.
Truth be told, I might just look for the...
Yeah, is there a thread on this yet?
I'm in. My fiance has decided not to go once she read the -30F and no backup/warm tent.
Will we still have the parachute shelter?
That's what prompted this. Packing, even for a weekend would take half a day because I spend most of my time searching for stuff.
With this setup, I'll have a bin that I can throw in the car if...
My sewing room was my gear room, but it's also the cats room...and I have a terrible fear of grabbing my quilts only to find a cat made a mess on them (if you know what I mean). Plus I really wanted...
Thanks for pointing that out! Posted!
LOL, it figures this thread would pop up right around the time I get close to finishing my gear closet! I posted some info in the DIY thread since I DIY this closet, but here is more info about...
I guess this counts at DIY.
I finally got off my arse and got some work done on the gear closet. We had a small electrical fire here at the house last year...no wood caught, but the insulation...
Cool! I'm glad I brought it up.
My fiance wants to come to this one, if I can get her equipped well enough in time. I think we really just need to get her insulated pants and overboots...and buy...
So, do we have any plans for a 2012 Frozen Butt Hang???
If it's down and hammock, there is no excuse for not getting it hung *Somewhere* ASAP.
Tarps, well, silnylon is forgiving. So whenever you get to it.
Clothes? Throw it in a trash bag and wash...
Says the man who won that toughest backpacker contest.
Wow, I thought I was the only one that had trouble sleeping in a hammock.
It took me a long time to be able to sleep in a hammock, and it's because I toss and turn so much. I find I sleep better...
Ugh, you're too skinny and short for my needs. LOL
Great pack!
I love my 5.11 gear, this is a great fleece.
Sorry I can't use another one...I just got the Saber 2.0. They make fantastic gear!
Sold Pending Funds.
mbiraman, I love when you post photos. Those really give me a wanderlust.
Thank you for sharing!
Hammocks are a lot stronger than you think. It helps if you trim dogs nails.

My 50lb pit bull sleeps with me. I'm more worried about...
Guitar String. I think a .19 gauge, non-wound. I've used .11 as well, but it likes to split the weave.
