I'm pretty sure it's a universal turn on for women. And I agree with her, the 500A is a good looking machine! I sit and stare at mine for hours sometimes... [emoji7]
Yes, kinda weird, but that's what it means.
She's a beauty!
Jaydub is right, $100 seems a little high unless it has the attachments. However, I have seen them go as high as $300+ with all the attachments and cams. The 500a is a great machine and I would pay...
Silly me, I've been looking for the Kenmore thread since I read Koolranch's post... Thanks for the heads up.
Nice, love these slant models and years. 301A is such a great machine!
Nice, those Vikings are built like tanks. Good deal to boot.
Le'me try...left to right:
Darning foot? Cant see it very well
Open toe zigzag foot
Rolled hem foot
Zigzag foot
The plastic thing with the lever is a darning/embroidery foot

IOW, they don't build 'em like they used to! :D
Mine sews ducks as well; granted, it's a little difficult to get them under the presser foot though...

As well you should; she's finer than frog hair! :boggle:
Not sure how I missed this discourse earlier, but...
Spools are wound one of two ways:
Straight wound and Cross wound, a spool is a spool; we say spool to mean the 'regular' small spools for home...
Those two are some beauties Mac!

I've had a green and tan 319 and now I want a black one; no other reason really... If they had a needle position selector they would be perfect, well, that and used regular needles. They handle the...
Well, I just couldn't help myself! I picked up a craigslist Singer 500A today.
Every one, meet Stella, my new RocketGirl!

There's just something about these old machines...They had style, flair, good looks; they were works of art that worked! The new machines work great, they just miss the mark on looking good while...
First, my Necchi-Alco Japanese Girl, model A-509B-3. Best guess on year is 1956 based on a very similar Nelco A-509-3 model. She goes by Judith, I know, not very Japanese...
Yes, my sewing machine...
