Looks great. Any reason you can't still cut a foot off the bottom? Shouldn't be too much extra work, by the looks of it.

The trick with sewing tyvek, is to use a very long stitch, around 4 per inch.

interesting idea. I'd be concerned about the quality of the water, depending upon the tarp material. Agree they get points for thinking outside the box though.

The idea of the static free bags from wilderness logics is also a huge plus. My experience with down has been nothing but a static-induced mess!

Looks great. I have hung hammocks in place of a bed inliving situations where space was very limited.

The best part is that you can take it down, and it's like it was never there.

If I started all over again, I'd make everything myself. Finding the time for that is another thing.

I don't use mine, for most outdoor gear sewing. But the usefulness depends on the fabric too. I see thinner ripstop nylons as being more difficult to work right with the rolled hem foot. This is on...

Also, nylon vs polyester and I've heard too, that coatings affect strength, not sure about breathable coatings like DWR and the like.

I would take the time to write out all the projects I have started and not completed, but that's just another thing distracting me from my work.. anyway, back to reading the DIY forums :)
