Happy birthday Dutch .
On hot summer nights it can reach high 80's or low 90's in Texas. It's still hot but I sleep much better in my hammock then on a pad in my tent. The breeze all around you does help a lot. Just wash...
*Drools* love the burnt orange. Thats what i got on my 20* TQ. Those econ quilts are a steal, I'm hoping to grab a 0* set this summer for next winter.
Don't forget about the other hangs in between though.
Tease! Looks like a good one, can't wait till the full video.
I've been eyeing a zero degree set, I'm justifying it as I'm not hiking real far in those temps, and in the south we don't see a lot of temps like that, but for the money it's hard to pass up. I...
I have a hanger 12 in 20D. I don't put my tarp up near branches and I've never had one fall on my tarp so I can't help there. I don't abuse my gear but I do tend to be hard on it. I've tripped on my...
That sounds awesome. I hope I make it out there to try that. Love some good rabbit.
I'll be watching this one close. That's right around my birthday.
How many typically show for this one?
I went camping with my buddy last weekend for #8. Great couple of nights on a lake, we got to fish for trout and just relax for two good days. Really loving my bandit tq, was toasty warm all weekend.
Got #7 on the first of this month but went out last night cause it was supposed to get chilly. Just misted all night, then my midnight body alarm went off and when I got up for my potty break I...
I just got the same machine for my projects. Had to replace my old vintage Singer when it broke over the summer and I can't find anyone to fix it. The lady I bought it from said she never could get...
Merry Christmas from our family to yours. We hope everyone has a safe holiday.
Love my 20* Pheonix but haven't spent extensive nights in it at 20. I got a pad from Dutch I believe was around a half oz, or an oz. Works well and doubles as a comfy butt pad.
I'm laying in mine right now. Just love this thing, can't wait to order my Zepplin, but it looks like it'll be next year.
I come across the video while searching for DIY bug net and something like this was what I was looking for. How did it work out for you with the bugs?
Also any measurements to recreate it?
Thank y'all for all the responses. I'm going to be having another little troll soon and wanna get some good time in before I have to take some time off to help momma. ERL is on my list and most...
Looking for a loop trail approximately 15_20 miles. We want something that's a well established trail, but not over traveled or overly populated.
We've been looking at the National forest so we...
I would say an asymmetrical tarp wouldn't be the best first tarp in my opinion. They tend to be fair weather or summer type tarps. The hex tarp will give you more coverage for your gear in case of...
Any chance of seeing the purple haze in the 1.7 Robic xl in the future?
Any chance of seeing the purple haze in the 1.7 Robic xl in the future?
ERL is on my list of must do's. Can't wait till I get the chance.
It was an awesome weekend of much needed relaxation. Glad you made it out. The video turned out great, can't wait for the gear talk video.
Hanger 12 from UGQ. I absolutely love this tarp. I'm thinking of adding a set of Grizz beaks to maximize my coverage for blowing rain.
Last day till this kicks off, hope everyone is prepared.
All the time, drives my better half nuts. But I'm usually like hey drop me off here so I can fish or lounge and come get me later. Never works for me.
Thanks for the update. I'm ready.
On my 6th month tonight and it's a good one for me. Hanging at the back of our property with my son (4 years old). Just fantastic scenery tonight watching the moon. I couldn't have had a better...
I agree 100%. Love my TQ from them and really need to get an UQ from them too.
I'm excited too, I still can't figure out what to bring for the pot luck. Can anyone think of anything that's needed? I thought about bringing fire wood to share.
Thanks for the video. Looks like it turned out pretty good.
Wasn't today but yesterday I made a new double ended stuff sack. My first one was too small, wouldn't fit my hammock and my bug net. My new one is really too big, but will work just fine.
Looks awesome! I still hadn't got to making my quilt.
Got my 5th consecutive month in for this challenge. Hit a low of 28° in my new 20° Bandit and stayed toasty. 20° Pheonix did great as well. Can't wait for the hang next month to hit my halfway mark.
The cdt does not come with a removable hip belt, just fyi.
I loaded mine into my brand new ULA OHM and am biding my time till I can hit the trail! It's finally getting cooler around here and I can't wait.
Congratulations on such huge accomplishment. Thanks for sharing.
I did this, and I love it. It works fantastic for me in the summer months that I need some air flow.
I made mine to Dutch's specs and added the center tie outs per cowboys. It's larger the...
I love It! I been contemplating a DIY half wit version in 1.2
MAD777 that should make you feel all warm and cozy that Dutch remembers.
Sweet deal!
That is an awesome quilt, I'd love to sport that!
It really does force those of us 'too busy' to make time to enjoy the little things and relax. We often get so emursed in day to day life we don't step away and look at it, we just look at the big...
I see, don't know if I would have either, lol. I still want to hit the trail across the river. They had it closed last time we went. (High water) I hiked with my dad to the over look when I was a kid...
Looks awesome!
It's only a 3/4 to 1 mile walk so your not that far. :scared: Best I can recall if you wanna hang there is one spot to the back, and maybe 2 or three decent spots toward the beginning of the trail....
Next time check out the primative area. Your right by the river, and if you get one of the first spots on the trail down, you can scoop water from a dino foot print! I like it towards the back but I...
Lol classic. Hope you keep your sanity for the next 4_6 weeks.
That's a sweet quilt!
Welcome from your neighbor! You should come check out the fall hang in Fairfield.
There's plenty to learn around here, have fun.
