I'm in + dog! I will tell Mr. Pink the dates.
Weather looks good. Snow and cold all week with a slight warm up come the weekend.
Mr Pink (Dave) is bringing a smoker, so if anyone has some meats that need some cooking, bring them!
I just recently started anew job so I don't have vacation time till my 90days... I'll be up as...
Hallmark will be in attendance to take your money directly... :tonguesmilie:
I'm down, per usual.
I'll let Dave (Mr. Pink) know the dates so we can figure out wood plans.
I was too busy eating to take photos... Sunday morning when i came out of my food coma
I can probably snag wood from Mr. Pink even though he will not be in attendance... but the crapsploder only holds so much...
Yes, I'll have a few stoves with me, and Quincy too.
Dang, I need to check the forum more.
I'll be there.
I've got plans already otherwise I'd be in. I tend to avoid the big holiday weekends on popular trails, because, well... I hate people. Lol
Dont even get me started. It's infuriating. I'll just leave it there so I don't get the ban hammer.
This has been the first hike in license fees in 15 years. I always get an all species, which oddly went down $3 for residents????
Yup, Laketown area. I go out hiking with my dog at Saugatuck Dunes or "The Sandbowl" a few times a week.
I'll be there this next weekend. 27-2nd
Me too, small world.
Michigan has a big following. You just missed out on our annual Ludington State Park Winter Hang.
Yeah, right across from the lake in those woods.
Going to Nordhouse next weekend. Seriously. Love that place.
I stealth hang out at the sandbowl off of 66th street all the time in the summer. :D
Sunday we woke up to some nice powder.
We went snowshoeing from the campsite to Big Sable Point Lighthouse.
I didnt bust out the camera till Saturday.
They're pretty lax on the no alcohol rule this time of year. At least they were the last two hangs. As long we don't have tons of cans and bottles strewn about in plain sight, and are not belligerent...
Quincy saw the backpack come up from the basement, she's currently going bananas! :D
P.S. bringing 4-5 empty growlers to fill at Jamesport.
Yes, not mine however. Dave swapped in a newer 6.5l turbo and injection on the 6.2l block with 4L80E.
Wood! Dave and I are driving separate so we didn't need to sacrifice wood capacity for gear.
I gave up on that fight a while ago, AWD + snow tires.
Here is M-116 the road to the park. (Pic stolen from some random local's FB post)
The TSA oversees the DNR now? Haha
Because its set up per person eating 13 slices of meatlovers and 17 slices each of pepperoni. (# of ppl * slices per person) / 8 = $1,000 pizza bill.
Everyone should have just entered themselves...
Everyone get's 6 slices... just changed it. lol
I think your formula is a bit off, or we're not filling it out right. So far we're up to each person eating 17 slices of peperoni, and 13 of meatlovers a piece. for a total of 29 pizzas thus far......
yEAH, dAVE (mR. pINK) aND I aRE lOADING uP hIS tRUCK aFTER wORK oN tHURSDAY.
I may just forgo the tarp and build an igloo around my hammock.
With our trip in May bugs were minimal, we lucked out with weather however. It should have sucked, but we got near 70 and sunny every day.
I would not expect that this May. You could probably...
A lack of snow will not be an issue this year. I got about 14" of new snow in my yard over the last 48 hours. :D
Mr. Pink is in. We've put in the order for wood you all want to steal an make tables out of...
I took that Thursday and Friday off, needed to use up my vacation by the end of Feb.
The snow loss probably wont be so bad up in Ludington.
Mr. Pink (Dave) has been informed of the dates; so we'll probably have the standard huge load of wood if he comes.
Boudah + Quincy (Dog)
Michigan > Ludington State Park > Date unknown (see poll) > OFFICIAL! :D
Hey, another Hollander.
Pretty much exactly it, but on day 1 we hiked along Tobin harbor trail, and the last day, didn't make slight that jog north, just came right into Rock Harbor.
We had back-country passes, but went...
I'd mirror our trip across the Greenstone, but take out the Lane Cove Day-1 and go straight to W. Chickenbone.
Day 1... Rock Harbor to Lane Cove - 7 miles
Day 2... Lane Cove to West Chickenbone -...
Put me down as a maybe.
Here is the trip stone lost his man card on...
We'll just be out there disturbing the peace! :D
I'm working on a hot-house for winter adventures!
The only reason I thought it was a hog nosed is because it puffed out and got 'big' once it saw me as a threat. I'm not a snakologoist... so who knows.
I think it's an Eastern Hog-Nosed Snake. It was seriously tiny, I had the macro on and almost touched it with the lens. Michigan only has one poisonous snake, the Eastern Massasauga Rattlesnake, and...
V.S. on the river...
