Time for me to craw into the hammock & see if I can get some sleep. I gotta get up & be ready when Glenn pulls in at 6am!:)
Ha... taking care of last minute details that have been put off or overlooked:D
Just not right?:lol::lol::lol:
ALL RIGHT!!! YEAH!!!:D
As long as you don't eat them at 4am, I might be all right:eek:;)
I think I hiked about that far in the dark again last Oct when I stayed Sun night to hang out w/ Jerry & Shug.
I started at Table Rock & somehow passed them. It was dark by the time I got to...
I'm mainly just kiddin around, but When I don't have any prodding, I do tend to sleep & hang out in the hammock longer than I should:rolleyes:
I enjoy lazy mornings when I can, but I also know that...
Whewwww... I thought you guys were going to be cracking the whip & saying "Get moving slowpoke"
But wait... do I have to wake up & get started at 6am to have that morning mocha?:scared:
BTW... My 7lb food was just my first laying out of the food stuff. It includes from lunch Fri through breakfast or lunch on Mon.
The "beverage mix" bag weighs 1lb, 12ozs. That's Mocha, Chi, Hot Tea,...
With out going back & searching through so many pages of this thread, how much does your food weigh & for how many days?
Mine comes up to 7lbs.
You may want to shoot them a PM, just to be sure you get an up-date, since you'll be carrying some of their stuff in your pack:)
If you have several extra items to carry on the trail, I, & probably...
Now that is Golden!!!:) Been meaning to make or buy one of those guys, just haven't yet.
Good to hear that the travels are going well! Looking forward!!!:)
Well, I thought about that, but didn't want to make any assumptions:)
But I'll be glad to share in the labor at the ol pump...
I'm trying to find info on a "use by" time limit on the Micropur Tablets. I have some I bought last year in the foil pack, but don't have the box. If there's a "use by" date on the foil, I can't read...
Ken & HawkEye, did you decide which trail you were taking down to the river. If not, just let us know when you do. I'll be checking HF early Fri morn before leaving.
Gulp... yep:rolleyes: But...
Ummm... guess I'd better start packin:)
OK, here's the last list of attendees as posted by Jerry.
Showing up Friday:
Tinker(Jerry)
skippy
Hangin' Burrito
Running Feather
Still can't sleep, huh?:)
I've not been there, but I'm sure some of the others have. If they don't post before you leave, I'm sure they can tell you something about it when they see you.
:)Know what cha mean:) Drive careful & we'll plan to see you Fri morn!
How about a plastic Easter Egg hid at the base of certain signs (Table Rock) or with in 3' of the sign base, hid from view, or with in 3' of a trail intersection?
Leave a note on "Write In The Rain"...
Yep, when buying hiking footwear I keep in mind some advice I got from a friend that has worked for many years in selling outdoor equipment & now has his own outdoor shop.
When trying them on,...
She was a Girl Scout... the one w/ the bloody toes... it wern't purty:(
Sorry, that's all:)
Speaking of toes "riding in the front of the bus", don't forget to cut those toe nails... especially the big ones:eek:
I saw what long toe nails can do for a person on a long, down hill hike:scared:...
Now I know... I was so naive:eek:
OK. I've not met Brad or wfuballer21, I just remembered Brad winning the big Marathon in LG last year or year before.
Anyone going on this trip have reactions to bee stings?
There are a few yellow jacket nests around & I got popped on the leg by a bald face hornet once:)
If you have issues you might want to carry...
Right turn Clyde:)
I noticed on the yahoo group that sanzenbacher/Brad was talking about using his hammock in LG. Is he a HF member?
I'm thinking you can cross all creeks w/o getting your feet wet, except that big creek called "Linville River".
The loop crosses it twice, day 2 is a wade across (probably knee deep or less from...
Thanks! You'll be welcome anytime.
:lol::lol::lol::lol::lol:
The "others" will never understand us:rolleyes:
Good deal! Look forward to meeting you.
Sorry to miss you, but that does sound like a good reason to miss a weekend trip!:)
You'll sure be missed if you don't make it.
You know that myself or someone else close by would be glad to transport underquilts to Hedcase & Skippy if you need us to.
SoundWitness, my suggestion would be just as Hawk said.
It might be helpful if we could come up w/ a way to let late arrivers to the Table Rock Parking lot know two things.
1)... Has group 1...
Thanks Glenn. I'd like to share a ride if I could, but I'll let you know for sure next week. That would be good!
You sure can be hard on a Brother... especially an old one:rolleyes:
You could take Wolfpit in. I've used it quite a few times. Only thing is, you would need to hike North when you reached the MTS trail to meet the others.
Assuming you were not getting a much later...
Ahhh... I missed that detail:)
If all goes well, I may meet you Fri morn at Spence Ridge parking area. Of course, I'll be able to tell more that week.
Assuming nothing gets in the way, I can be there when ever HawkEye can.
10am should be no prob.
Car pooling is good! I'd be more than glad to hitch a ride (if all else allows) & share the fuel bill!
Can ya squeel like a pig???:scared::rolleyes::D:lol:
Yep, I need both. I just hope one doesn't get in the way of the other:)
I herd they're real hard to find in Linville Gorge, but I'm still hopeful:D
I'm still job hunting so I'm not exactly sure how things will be for me, but if things are still as they are now, I may be able to join the ones starting at Spence Ridge Trail!
If not, maybe I can...
Sorry to hear that Scott. Hopefully we'll catch you on another trip though.
Unless I missed it, I don't think anyone replied to this question from Jerry.
I have been curious about the conditions on different parts of the trail across Shortoff Mt as well, since I've not got...
Glad you're coming too Skippy! It'll be good to see you again.
Yeah, that one's killin me:eek:
Sure would like to check out all the stuff they'll have there & see ol Chuck & some others, but I guess I need the trail time w/ fellow hammockers more right now.
Wait until the day before & I'll tell ya:D:lol:
I guess you know I'm going to have miss hanging out w/ Chuck if I hang out w/ you guys that weekend:confused::rolleyes::D

I hope...
Cool! Good to hear man!
Are you talking about the "Bang" of you hitting the ground when that super lite hammock & suspension lets you down?:)
