I agree with the snake skins. I made my own out of some bug netting i got from Sportsmans guide. Seems to work well and no trapped air.

Well my daughter spent about 6 hours in my hammock while we were camping over the weekend and had to be pried out of it. Her birthday is coming up so I wanted to get her a hammock of her very own. ...
I have made a few things off his site also. Welcome, I am about 1 1/2 hours north of you..
Little town outside of Clarion
Welcome. Lots of interesting information contained in this forum. I actually went from here to bushcraftusa. Good to see another member from PA here also. I am about 1 1/2 hours south of you.
I never get tired of watching your videos. great job once agian.
I am still hoping to be able to attend. have to see what happens with work but hopefully will be able to make it for at least one night.
I am outting the date on my calander. As long as everything stays quiet at work I will be attending. If i can find someone to watch my daughter on Friday I should be able to make it there anytime...
yes it would be if i have someone to watch my two little ones. still a little young for much of a hike.
If my wife was not going out of town i would have loved to tag along. Not far from my house.
Welcome. Spent alot of time in Cochranton a little over 10 years ago when I was in the scouts. Welcome aboard.
never knew there was anyone else on here close to me. Good luck in the west.
great trip. spent a week there as a scout in 1994. sailed from key largo to keywest and back. wish i would have known about hammocks back then. it would have made the trip alot more comfortable.
I have played around with tubular webbing for rope rescue and a whoopie would not work. First you would actually have make a cut in the webbing to make the constricting part of the whoopie with. This...
I learned in the Boy Scout and was always fascinated by knots. Also got a couple of good books and learned from there. Even the most basic knots that I learned in the Scouts have been helpful...
use google chrome it will actually translate most of it.
looks like a great site and the prices seem to be good also. I will be watching for the DIY guides section to come online. Best of luck to you in your newest venture.
I have been wanting to get a TQ and UQ for my HH for some time and your sale on the TQ just pushed me over the edge. I was looking at getting the HHSS but everyone said to go with a UQ. I can't...

I was working on something like this last night for my HH Explorer Deluxe and 12x12 GG tarp. I had some Joann fabric ripstop laying around so I decided to make 2 new stuff sacks. The first was for...
Another great video for starting hammock camper. Have you ever tried a HH explorer deluxe? Just got one and now thinking about a UQ or a HHSS. Again great video and i never get tired of watching.
If this is still available I will take it.

Wow these went fast today. Wish I would have checked in sooner.
Is braided mason line strong enough to make an adjustable ridgeline out of?
The Amsteel items are in the mail. Good luck with them Bigbogg.
They r yours
I have not claimed anything yet but made a set of 7/64" grey whoopie slings the other night that will not work on my HH. The adjustment is too close to the eye for use on the HH. I will offer them...
wow that did not last long
Interesting ideas here. I guess I have never thought of using one of those small biners as the toggle. I am going to have to try that tonight.
Does size of the toggle make a difference? I have some old carbon fiber arrows laying around and I am think about cutting a few up to make toggles with.
I also had an issue with the length of the stock HH tree straps. I just switched out my suspension for whoopies and toggles. Right now I am using a couple of ratchet straps without the ratchet...
I have have to take a closer look at one of mine. I thought there were already tie outs on the side. I added two ridgeline tie outs to mine so far and the door option will be the next thing to add....
On your tarp ridgeline what are you using to keep the extra line all wrapped together? I have been working on a few making a things to do that same thing.
Interesting idea with the se of the foot print. I will also have to keep an eye out for these in the future. Also your setup looks good to me.
I was thinking along the same line a the amsteel but using some cheaper material. I was thinking 550 cord with the guts pulled out would the same thing but not sure if the lash-it would fit inside. ...
I hope this happens in my area soon. I have a lot of projects in the works.
I had the same thing happen the first time I tried it. The upholstery thread was all i could find at the time and I really wanted to get started. I now have the correct thread and all is going well.
I have been involved in scout for over 20 years and have never seen a hammock used on a camp out until I found this site. I earned my eagle when I was 14 and I hope to get my son (now 2 years old)...
Welcome, I was just up through there a couple of weeks ago. Went to visit my grandfather old cottage on Lake Nippissing and stopped over at Camp La Plage but they were still closed for the winter. ...

Waiting on my order from Nalgene that I got at 50% off, some sale items from Campsaver.com, and a new alcohol stove from ebay. Still looking at a HH after making my first hammock. I am thinking now...
Just placed an order and used the great discount. I also got the disclaimer that it is taking longer to ship due to large amount of orders. How did we find out about this discount? was this some...
