+1 on the braided masons line. I get a big spool at Home Depot. It is great for other small splicing projects like guy lines, stuff sack cinch rope, lanyards etc..
Just make sure it the braided...

Very cool!! I am diggin that pop of color!!
Nice work!! Just be careful because it will get addicting!! Get some Techline from Scott at Diygearsupply for your SRL and it will save you some weight over the REI cordage. Enjoy the hang!!
Looking good!! Fronkey does some funny but informative videos for sure!!
I will take the GoLite Gust Pack
Great looking tarp and setup!! I am waiting for Dutch to get some more ArgonSil in stock. Well done!!
Hey tncamper,
Any updates on the Micros?
+1 nuttysquirrel
I made a DIY 5oz from thru-hiker and I couldn't be happier. Really easy to sew and thru-hiker shipped it out the same day.
Thanks Shane!! Unfortunately my order 1363 isn't on the list. I wonder if that is because it is the 56" model instead of the stock 52"?
Thanks for the update Shane!! I hope your vacation is nice and relaxing.
For those like myself who ordered a WW Micro, do you know when those may be ready? I know Brian makes those, but maybe you...
Maaan!! If only it was the small waistbelt. I am right at a 32" waist.
Great work!! Looks like some good hanging is in your future!!
Bummer to hear millergear. I place mine on June 2nd and still haven't received a shipping email yet. I just wish there was an expected wait time on the site somewhere that was based on demand...
Hey Tncamper!! Do you have any updates on the status of the hammocks? Thanks!!
Whoa that is ridiculously nice looking!! How soft is the Argon? I have wanted to do a new DIY project with the Argon from Dutch!!
I am so stealing the stake square idea!! Thanks for these tips!!
Ok thanks SkidvonAr!! I placed mine about 1 month after you, so now I have a gauge as to the completion time. I will have to rethink my gear for my upcoming trips. All good, I am just like a kid...
Awesome thanks for the update Shane!! I am just itching to go UL with my new Micro!!
Thanks Sandmaker. I too am very anxious to lay in my hammock. I feel badly bugging them since I realize that this is a small business, but I just want to know what the lead times are since I have a...
Might be overkill, but how about a bear bagging rope? I have also made small locked brummels to wrap around a tree. This way my backpack never rests on the ground.
I realize this thread is quite a few months old, but I wanted to see if anyone has ordered any hammock lately from BIAS? I like supporting cottage businesses like BIAS and I do realize that...
That is a crazy small hammock!! Nice setup
That's awesome!! I am definitely showing this to my girlfriend!!
That is super sweet. I like the tiny size of the package. Great work!!
That is a great looking quilt!! Never thought I would say that about a bright pink UQ... Nice work
Great vid HD. That is a good looking quilt.
That stitching is very cool looking!!
Great deal!!
Awesome tarp!! I wanted to get some material this week, but it looks like Dutch is all out at the moment. How much does it weight?
Great looking TQ!! Watch those claws on the riptsop ;)
Nice work!! Stitches can be crooked as long as they hold!!
Great looking TQ!! How low do you think you can take the 2.5 Climashiled to? I just made a DIY Apex 5 UQ and want to make a TQ to match
+2 on XTrekker's YouTube video as well. I followed Scott's instruction over at diygearsupply.com
My biggest advice it make sure you pull out the sides and start in the middle and work your way...
I don't know what is cooler, that thread injector or the tarp!!?? Great looking stuff!!
Man, those quilts are beauties!!
Thanks!! The Jarbidge was inspiration on building it. I almost pulled the trigger on one, but opted to tackle making one
Thanks!! I am using the Dutch Quilt Hangers to help keep the UQ snug. I am thinking about making some DIY triangle thingies to help change the angle a bit to snug it up even better.
Great point bubba74!! I am not a gram weenie, but I figure since I am within the weight limits of using 1.1, I figured why not save some weight. But the more I think and research, the more I am...
Thanks Lepmeister!! Yes I have heard that before. Is it very noticeable? Like night and day difference in comfort or is it pretty close?
I think the weight difference would be about 7 oz or so. Not much, but I guess every little gram counts!!
Hello All-
I have doing my homework on this forum for quite sometime, and your tutorials, suggestions and input has been amazing on other threads. So in preparation for an upcoming trip, I...
Awesome!! Thanks for the response dirkomatic. I been toying with the idea of getting one of these for my hammock or just making a diy version myself. I am 6ft tall and my hammock is 10ft. Please snap...
Has anyone been able to test out the asym hang on it? I like the idea of its length being 115", but wanted to see if there are any pics to verify that it works out ok. Amazon has them for $32 bucks...
Sweet!! Thanks for the tip!! I love drinking some Bullet Rye while I sew!!
I know that this thread is slightly older, but I wanted to see how the UQ is treating you? I purchased Apex 5.0 from Thru-Hiker and some 1.1 from Ripstopbytheroll. In researching, I found the JRB...
Great looking tarp!! Any advice on sewing silnylon? I hear its slippery to sew
Great stitching!! Do you think this will hold with prolonged use? Could this possibly work to join shockcord to some guy line cordage?
Do you happen to have a link or image? This sounds really interesting. Thanks!!
