If you're using a stand, who's counting pounds anyway?

If you're using a stand, who's counting pounds anyway?
I REALLY love this idea.
We're still 5 months out (or so), but here's something to think about as we ever-so-slowly march toward Fall Sprawl:
We raised $1700 last year in the raffle for state parks and camping areas in...
You can get a comparable one from Butt In A Sling, if you're in a hurry. Otherwise, I'm sure they'll be back in stock soon.
You won't find a better local resource than what PSH has to offer - especially in Dawn (in Greenwood). DO feel free to make yourself known to the group and don't be shy - we don't have a shy group...
At 6'4" and 380lbs, I can attest to the quality of Dream Hammock products.
Also, welcome from another JG (John Gresham) in SC. Feel free to join Palmetto State Hangers at any of our group events...
First, thanks to everybody that made this fourth(?) annual Spring Swing a tremendous success, including BSA Troop 88, Paul and Missy at Underground Quilt's and Outdoor Gear, and Bryan at TATO Gear. ...
Last year the raffle paid for the expenses. There was no up-front cost. HOWEVER, with Hotlips and Kingsford hosting this year and their penchant for feeding others there are going to be more expenses...
What e-mail and when?
I think that had the DM forum been available as a new member I'd have been much quicker to participate it and offer my $10.
Visibility isn't access, though - it's like seeing that there's a cool club with cool people but not knowing if it's worth the $10 cover charge. Let folks in for a minute and then the'll be able to...
"Stupid people gotta pay the stupid tax" isn't exactly the best way to foster an environment of mutual respect and furthering of ideas (presumably the idea behind being a part of this or any other...
Being hurt is being hurt, no matter who is at fault. If that can be alleviated, why wouldn't you?
What interest would there be in having an arborist in attendance to give an informal talk on trees and their care and health in relation to hammocks?
Come see us in September - I might know where you can try one out. :D
We have an arrangement with Dreher to use the primitive sites for Swamp Butt in July - these are normally reserved for youth groups only but we have an exception. Don't want to push that exception to...
This guy right here.
Congratulations to Gregory Payne of Georgia, winner of the Palmetto State Hangers, Dream Hammock, & BIAS hammock and suspension giveaway.
Gregory will be receiving a custom Dream Hammock (home of...
New, never used - still has tags.
La Sportiva Makalu mountaineering boots, men's size 9.5. Literally perfect condition. Got for a trip that never happened, so letting them go for almost $100 off...
Due to lack of interest, the Shag Contest has been cancelled - HOWEVER, the hang is still on and we're planning a beach party instead! Beach music on the beach, y'all!
Makes sense - when we post the actual hang information we'll do that.
...this is legit genius. I love it!
From the previous page of this thread. :D
To my knowledge, there's no organized group...doesn't mean there can't be one, though.
Start one up!
If you can hold off a few weeks and make a small trip, I and Palmetto State Hangers will be at Huntington Beach State Park for our annual Spring Swing event, April 23-26. We've got some loaner gear,...
Bumping this up - just a few days left to get in on a sweet free rig, courtesy of PSH, Dream Hammock, and Butt in a Sling!
We usually have a great time. There are lots of smaller hangs that don't get put on HF, but the big four are always on here. You're welcome at any of then, or join the Facebook group to keep up with...
Welcome from down the road in Irmo. We've got a VERY active group of hangers here in SC and you're welcome to join us at the end of this month at Spring Swing at Huntington Beach.
Hey, Rick - any update on what you might get? Options? Colors?
Got a shipping notification today from our friends at Underground Quilts & Outdoor Gear for a box of cool stuff to give away at Spring Swing this month.
If your name is on the spreadsheet and you...
Sitting at the end of the first week and we're at 250 entries so far.
Now, that may seem like a lot but there's a whole mess of folks that did a bad job of following instructions, meaning you've...
Especially when it's free!
This was addressed on Reddit yesterday, so I'll hold to the same thing I said there - gotta love consistency.
ANYBODY can win, but if the cost of shipping is prohibitively expensive then we may...
Lots and lots of traffic coming in from all over the web - the hammock camping community is a great one, and I have to say I'm impressed that I'm not having to delete multiple entries or police this...
The math's solid, but it doesn't change the fact that the jury is out on whether or not it's actually an issue in the short term.
Around 150 entries in less than the first 24 hours...seems like there's lots of "YOU DO" folks out there. :D
Yeah, I tried to keep it as simple as I could for being able to check for duplicates without being too invasive. Besides that, nobody but me and Junebugdawn are gonna see these and then they'll all...
Just to be clear, this isn't just on HF - it's also on Reddit and several Facebook groups...hence the method of entry and extra information required.
It's a way to cross-reference and check for multiple entries.
Also, filling out simple information makes you work for your entry. You didn't think it'd be as simple as "I'm in," did you? ;)
You make a good suggestion - I might have to come up with a pretty solid second and third. I like giving things away.
You have to ask "what's the catch." It's that simple. :D
Really, there is no catch. PSH wanted to give away a hammock, and Dream Hammock and BIAS helped make it happen.
Palmetto State Hangers, in conjunction with Dream Hammock and Butt In A Sling Hammock Gear is proud to bring you a FREE HAMMOCK GIVEAWAY.
What better way to kick off spring and hammock lounging...
I've heard worse ideas, and you won't find a better hang on the east coast.
THAT'S RIGHT, I SAID IT FLORIDA HANG!
Ignoring the dirty window, look at the decal. These things are for sale NOW. $2 each for folks with paid memberships, $3 each for everybody else. No matter who you are, it's a buck per...
It's early yet - keep your abacus handy. :D
Prediction: Within the next several months, there will be a new product - Dutch Straps.
Someone did the math...
I agree, though - cottage vendor gear tends to not only hold its value because of the quality, but when you resell it you're also selling the instant gratification of not...
Getting closer, folks. With Palmetto Campout behind us for the year, this is the next thing on the PSH agenda.
Thanks, you guys. For the record, Dawn is actually seven feet tall. I'm eleventy seven.
It's really rewarding to be able to actually take part in something so in line with the mission of the club.
It's been my pleasure to be an officer of PSH since its inception a few years ago, but this event by far has been the biggest honor to be a part of.
