I'm in! I hope I made the cutoff time!
Try just going for a copyright instead? The idea of mailing yourself a registered letter and saving it is a great way to prove the time frame that you had the idea. I hope you get some better help...
That is a good idea. Not sure I'd want to catch water off of my tarp, as I have had birds leave "presents" on my tarps. :-)
Glad to see that I'm not alone! I haven't turned my TV on since I discovered that not all Youtube videos are of the "look at me do something stupid" variety. Shug's videos are HIGHLY entertaining,...
Welcome from Idaho!
Welcome from Idaho!
It's always nice to see someone doing what they can to get kids interested in scouting. Can you work up a simple set of plans/instructions for these kits? I think I could get a few people...
Isn't sleeping in a hammock grand? I slept in mine last night - got into the low 40s, but only woke up once when nature called. I was toasty warm all night long! :-)
I used to travel in NC a bit for a job I once had... Beautiful place! Welcome from Idaho!
Welcome from SE Idaho!
Thanks everyone! :-)
Very nice! I wish I had room to do that! :-)
It's the NX-250. The pockets on it are VERY handy for storing shoes and other items in. Now, if only I could make it as comfortable as my Hennessy. I'm still working on that though. I haven't had...
Thanks! Good luck finding a sitter, and have a great trip! :-)
I already have a dozen project ideas for me to try... been thinking about them for months now, so I think I'm already hooked......
Ok, I've made just over 50 posts, so I guess I should say a little about who I am. I've been hanging since the mid 90's. I own 4 hammocks now; 2 Hennessys, 1 WBBB, and one Clark NX-250.
I am...
I don't see where to post my HF name on Facebok... but I did like your page there. Here is my picture too. http://www.hammockforums.net/gallery/showimage.php?i=15656&c=2
no image is showing up. ...
I second the request for pictures from both parties, and instructions for the home brew set! I would love to make one, but wasn't sure how I wanted to hang the hammock from the stand. The breakdown...
Definitely not an ultralight! :)
I love my Hennessy, but I have to have the ridge line super taut to be comfortable. If I hang it slack at all, it's very uncomfortable. It creaks a bit when I get in, but I've hung it that way for...
That would be cool to have a dog like that! My cat hates the hammock.
Very nice! I need one of those for my yard. Feel free to drop this one off at my place when you make your new one. ;-)
Welcome back! Glad you're on the mend. I wish I had some suggestions for you for keeping warm, but I've never done cold weather hanging... I bet someone here has some ideas though!
Looks great! I like the bright colors too. Makes me want to build one now, but what will I do with 5 hammocks? :-)
Your organizer looks great to me! I check Craigslist every day myself for a thread injector, so I can try my hand at DIY. I hope my first project looks as good as yours! :-)
I wasn't worried about any trojans, as my Avast anti-virus does a great job protecting my computer, but at any rate, their web now says "SEPTEMBER 25 2011 MLD WEBSITE IS PARTIALLY DOWN FOR REPAIRS-...
I use a Teton Sports (http://www.tetonsports.com/index.html) compressable pillow. It's a big 18"X18" when it's out of the sack, and covered in brushed flannel. Nice and soft, and I don't have to do...
Ouch! If she reads this, you're going to be spending a LOT more time in the Hennessy! :D
You might find something you like here: http://www.atwoodrope.net/
I get a lot of their stuff from my local Army surplus place, and I haven't had any problems with any of it. Hope that helps!
When my turn comes up, if the sender would kindly PM me, I'll get my address to you ASAP. Then I'll get the next person's info and send it on, or send it back to the owner at their request. Thanks!...
How much for a set for my 250? ;-)
Thanks! :-)
Not sure if I added myself correctly...

That's gonna be a great looking hammock! Bright colors are nice to have on rainy, cloudy days. :-)
That is a great idea. I carry all 3 of mine in my truck, along with sleeping bags, quilts and other "just in case" gear. You never know when you might need one. Better to carry it and not use it,...
I have 3 hammocks (soon to be 4!), and I'm all by myself. I have them so when I go camping with someone, they have one too, or I can loan them out to my friends so they can try them. I've been...
Oh, and just in case someone isn't familiar with Simple Green, you can check it out here: http://www.simplegreen.com/
I have found that Simple Green works VERY well at removing pine pitch... No alcohol abuse, and no toxic fumes! I can't say how it would work with sap from other types of trees, but it couldn't hurt...
Man, I'd love to go to the UK and hang a hammock. One of these years...... :-)
I felt like I didn't have as much room in the expedition... maybe it was a tad wider, but not a lot, and it seemed to be way too short, and not as much headroom as my original... maybe I'm just...
What kind of changes are you wanting to make to it?
I'd just come out and ask for it... or offer to pay a little something for it. They are WAY comfortable!! But, I do know where you're coming from. I had 2 originals, and gave one to a friend... ...
Well, I don't technically have it just yet. It's been ordered, and should be shipped any day now. I will post some thoughts and answer your questions about it once I get it and use it. ...
I don't want to post just anything to get to 50. Sure I could do it in a few days, but I wouldn't be contributing anything of any value.
Now there's an idea. :-)
Well said. :-)
IMHO, you should remove, or at least lower, the 50 posts requirement for the Pay It Forward forum. I'm pretty new here, and I do more reading than posting, at least until I learn a little more. ...
I think I'll add a small 'biner to the entry side tie out, between the shock cord and the ring. It's a bit more weight, I know, but I never worry too much about that anyway. Thanks for all the...
Congrats Shug! Have a great trip!
I own one of the (as near as I can tell) original Hennessy Hammocks. It is not an asym, and the fabric is dark blue with a yellow tarp. I have to say that it is the most comfortable hammock that I...
Ok, This makes some sense to me. I'm not used to a side entry hammock that has tie outs on the side. I own one of the original non-asym Hennessy hammocks that has bottom entry, and a Clark NX-250...
I was starting to feel like I was the only one that thought that! Thanks for your post! :-)
I understand why the tie out is on the side, but it would do the same thing if it were attached to the hammock directly, instead of on the netting, wouldn't it? I mean, on a Hennessy, the tie outs...
