I used pads in the begining but didnt like the clammy feeling it caused ....since going with an under quilt Ive been much happier.

Wow what an extreme hang.....winds gusting to 60 mph..temps went from the 50s down to 16 ..Im sure glad I had those griz beaks..nice to meet everyone and thanks to HWS for the cobbler and gifts....

i started using figure nines for my tarp and love them. so easy to adjust...
well I live 3 hours due west of where we will be hanging and the weather channel is calling for a high of 52 on Fri. low of 32 that night and a high of 34 on sat....down to 26 on sat night and high...
forgot to mention I have another tarp I can bring for a group shelter.

Well I tried to fit everything into my pack and it dont fit..:( dug out the grandkids plastic sled and will use it as a make shift polk. We should have snow I just hope we dont have those below zero...

I have to admit at first I thought whoopie slings were the way to go but after using them 1/2 a dozen times times I have had a few problems....I cant see things up close without glasses and its hard...

sounds like it was strung to tight...the sag is really important. your lookig for about a 30degree angle from the trees to the ground for the suspension.

Good luck I agree with others that you will be uncomfortable but it wont kill you...also depends on if you are a warm or cold sleeper. Good luck and looking forward to your report.
