Hello from Adelaide, SA.
What hammock and tarp have you got?
Looks pretty good Acer! You must have the patience of Job.
I wonder if 2QZQ would be interested in making these out of their breathable fabric they use for the UQP...
Needs a ridgeline....
ZQ, thanks, you're welcome!
Acer, yes. The UQP should not compress the UQ, I have used it on my BB snugged up under the UQ and not compressing the UQ, and there is a noticeable improvement in UQ...
Acer, if the corner of the UQP is clipped to the spreader bar rings (is that what you mean?) then the whole UQP would droop - it is too long and too wide for the UL BMB, but too short to clip to the...
Impressive innovation there MM and HO.
Would this work for a Bridge Hammock?
Hi,
Sorry for the delay, big day yesterday.
Ok, I set it up with the Leah's 2/3 UQ:

I've got a BMB UL and I also have your UQP. LeighLo 2/3 UQ.
If I get a chance, I'll set it up in the spare room and see how it fits out of the box. I'd be surprised if it doesn't do the job. Bit...
Hey Water Monkey.
Well done pulling through after striking doubts and problems in the first few days. It's hard to tough it out but you did, and you did it well.
Re thigh and foot problems, I'm...

The goal is within reach. It takes a lot of prep to get on the trail.
Of course, it depends on your feet. Are they just sore, or are they falling apart? If they are sore, there is a few...
My UL BMB turned up today.
Stock suspension and still in the stuffsack: 950g or 33.5oz
I won't get a chance to actually use it for a while, but initial thoughts are it's very well made, and I...
Nice series BackPackHiker
Here's a link to the first in the series:

Are you going to review the UL BMB?
Me too. There was heavy condensation on the inside AND the outside of the tarp, so I'm thinking it was just one of those freak high dew-point, low air movement situations. It's certainly not possible...
Hey Pooka,
I have the Z-Packs tarp with doors and I've had to pitch it on the ground once recently, due to lack of trees.
Definitely do-able. It's a bit of a fiddle but much better once you...
The owners of FairyDown bought MacPac in NZ in 2008 and put the two brands under one roof.
http://www.macpac.co.nz/company-info/partnership-with-fairydown
Definitely a well respected brand, but...
Looks interesting!
Do you need more room between trees for this compared to say a WBBB?
Hi DemostiX,
I'd buy a set, but I only just made my own a week or so ago. ;)
Can you describe this in more detail, are you tying the bight, and how do you manage adjusting tension?
I've...
The reason I asked was because the online version has these two as an either/or drop down, but the iOS version asks for an entry for both.
Also agree that it would be useful to include common...
Cool.
What's the difference between "Ridgeline Length" and "Hammock Length" for a WBBB?
Love it, but have to admit it hasn't seen any action yet. Next week it will though!
I've also got a WL Tadpole tarp. Same problem as your HH: no chance of going to ground with that, just too...
Yep :)
I chuck my NeoAir pad in the bottom of the pack. It only comes out if I have to go to ground. I rate it as my ground weight penalty (they're pretty light) otherwise, in the hammock I stick...
Thanks for all the helpful information here.
I've started making some of these for my guylines, tried the locked and the unlocked. Not sure there is much benefit of the locked for a Prussik on a...
I had leaks, but I'm also not completely sure it wasn't water running down the line. If you have the optional tie-outs, they definitely leak...
I'd seal it. :)
Haha! That's awesome!
Were you damp in the morning? Humidity must be high just above the water like that.
I must have missed out on this by a few weeks!
Anyway, the tarp is now seam sealed with permatex flowable, not expecting any leaks. :)
Nice video, thanks! I need to sort my tie-outs, those look to be a good solution.
Are you sure about the seam sealing?
Mine is taped on the ridge seam, but then sewn through. I think it still...
Yes. Use straight from the tube. Its good stuff, works out dearer than silnet, but a whole lot less complicated.
Thanks Blaze. Love the light you have up there.
I asked a similar question a little while ago: http://www.hammockforums.net/forum/showthread.php?t=41914
As a result, I've re-arranged my kit:
WBBB 1.1 Double
ZPacks Cuben fly
ZPacks Sleeping...
I asked Joe about this, and he will tape the ridgeline if you ask for it.
So the main difference seems to be in the minor sizing differences, included loops etc, and cat cuts.
Thanks for the tip. Speedy stitcher is something I didn't know about but have definitely needed in the past to sew things that are too small or too bulky to run through the machine.
I've ordered...
Either Seamgrip or Silnet depending on what the coating on the nylon is.
Test one on an inconspicuous area first to see if it grips when dry.
If I were a betting man, I'd suggest trying Silnet...
Like that one Hawk-Eye, Very neat idea.
Nice Video Blaze, and welcome back. thanks.
Any reason you don't leave the ridgeline connected to the tarp?
I've been hanging it like you, but it occurred to me that I might as well just leave...
Well, I'm gunna swim against the tide here :) Don't shoot me!
I had the same advise from Marty, but I have always seam sealed my tents, so I decided to do the Tadpole with the supplied sealer...

I haven't done it yet, but because of the scarcity of trees in some places I hike, I need to be prepared for this. We also suffer plenty of bugs and creepy crawlies that are worse on the ground...
Nice report Segiy, that's a lot of video!
Its a great trip and you've done it proud. Doesn't the beer taste good at Cynthia Bay?
This mountain is called Mt Oakleigh. Great shot by the way....
Lairig Ghru is on my list for next time, I passed just south of it.
Michael
Its actually not that bad, and there are quite a few tarps here on HF made from it. I think if it was garbage we'd have heard by now. Its pretty tough stuff, tougher than it appears to be at first...
Was in the Cairngorms last year. Stunning place. Thanks for the reminder.
Which glens were these? A lot of the way on my trip there just weren't enough trees to be hanging hammocks.
Arrived today, over a month early. Looks great!
I wouldn't worry about it.
In fact, for important seams like a ridge, I seal both sides anyway.
Yes, you stuff (well, usually roll and pack) the whole soggy mess into one bag after closing the doors. The inside is dry, the outside is wet, It stays mostly that way. If there is a break in the...
Its neat being able to work under the protection of the tarp until the last moment. You still have a wet tarp however. On the other hand, an integral pitch tent allows you to pack everything away...
Your total: 64oz
MLD Duomid cuben with innernet and stakes: 23.6oz
Neoair pad regular: 15oz
WM Summerlite bag (32F): 18.5oz
Total: 57.1oz
Pretty comparable. Could go lighter on the...
Awesome trip, awesome report!
Pot is 1L: Jetboil Flash Product page
Very efficient stoves. I have the Sol.
There is. :)

And probably others...
Thanks Liz, I hadn't considered if the ridgeline would actually get tension. I'll give that a try.
Michael
Thanks for the responses, sounds like I'm on the right track.
I'm up for an UQ anyway, the rest I'll have to save for. We're about to hit summer here and there isn't much camping worth doing once...
So Oskar, have you bought one of these?
It's top of my list at the moment, but I'm waiting to hear from anyone who has used it in the hammock and on the ground. My quandary's are around what width...
