Hey bb, thanks for sharing this!
I'll start my first diy projects next week and this bag might as well be a part of it.
Hehe, might happen to me as well.
After all, my grandma was a needlewoman. ;)
Hey mate, great!
Even added a Tad Pole!
Well, I've never touched a sewing machine in my life.
And judging from your pic I'm at least double your age (and weight ).
But I'll get help with...
Yep, PharmGeek, can't wait for it.
Just have to sew my hammock first.
Just got my first Dutch/MYG oder today from customs and am so excited. Already spliced my first Amsteel UCR.
And can't wait to use some Argon 90 as my first ever sewing project. Let alone that...
Should be enough for that 1 oz fuel bottle that you wanna keep warm during the night, so that it lights right up for making your morning coffee, no?
I'm in Europe, so ordering this alone won't...
I'd rather have the D-rings breaking than the tarp tearing.
Great video and nice to see it on YouTube. Subscribed.
Happy Thanksgiving!
I'm German and the idea behind and the spirit of Thanksgiving always struck me as one of those truly great American things.
Enjoy!
Awesome!
Yes, Shug, I said awesome. And I really mean it.
=]
Thanks Paul! This already feels so good!!
I'm in with a BF Winterdream. Didn't see any options for international shipping though (I live in Germany). So contact me if I need to add anything.
Oh, and thanks for the sale! Great offer! Now...
Thanks for the info, Kroma!
Nice!
And looking oh so cosy!
Is the baffle design custom as well or does it come standard for a burrow with sewn foot box (baffles running along in the torso area and across on the foot box)?...
@Martin_1
Check if you can buy products called NOBITE in the Netherlands.
nobite.com
The stuff that is called "NOBITE Kleidung" is for clothes and gear.
There's also a product line called...
As others have pointed out already, the doohickey is called Grappler's Hitch and here you can see how it's working as well as how it's made:

I'm not a warm sleeper, I'm a super hot sleeper. So this ain't for me, but I do know quite a few ladies for whom this will be a killer buying reason.
Good job!
Brandon, it might be duties themselves, not just brokerage fees. As hutzelbein has explained, DHL will do the complete customs for you, if the sender picked DHL. But here in Germany there are like a...
If you want full coverage, including doors, the a hex tarp is not valued more than a rectangular tarp. For the very reason you pointed out, creating the doors with the additional fabric.
A hex...
Standard width is 60'' (around 58'' after sewn hem).
With more and more fabric entering the market up to 72'' wide, especially tall and big people enjoy the added width.
Great to hear and way to go, Hot Roj!
Some are, like the DD Tarp M, others are not, like the DD SuperLight Tarp.
So you'll have to check the specs individually.
+1 on the S hooks. They'd be laying on the poles (or better: upright standing), which might look a bit wobbly and strange at first. But once the force of the hammock is applied they stay in place...
You should say that on your site. Would be a major selling (or buying) point for me.
There are many. One good spot is Dutch's place:
http://www.dutchwaregear.com/tarp-and-quilt-stuff/
Dutch is on this forum, with his own section:...
The Blackbird and the Superfly are very good picks.
The Blackbird comes with suspension, so it's ready to go, the Superfly doesn't. So you'll need lines and eventually hardware (or you tie knots)....
Keywords: parallelogram of forces
Depending on angels and such you'll get severe leverage.
Have a look here and play with the hang angle: http://theultimatehang.com/hammock-hang-calculator/

Pick a quillt that covers you from head to toe and add Down Sleeves for your arms:

They're even Shug-approved.
: )
Didn't even know it existed. Thanks for showing.
If I understand the mod correctly it actually is the other way around. When there are a lot of posts they might open a subforum.
So feel free to post. : )
Oh boy, I hope you Americans cherish from time to time in what a friggin beautiful country you're living.
Great location, great view, wonderful experience.
Way to go!
10'' should work. Did you milk the bury after adjusting the UCR?
The prusik knot or taut line hitch ist just to help the bury from collapsing. But it's crucial to milk the bury, to stretch it out to...
Epic video!!!
And the site is a great idea.
Wishing you all the best. And myself to keep a the credit card balance sound!

I have very little experience, but I don't think, a pad or even reflectix under your butt will do you much good.
A pad under your feet, especially when using a 3/4 underquilt, works fine.
But...
Kitty, when you'll ever need some guylines, grab a box of pink Skyline.
Should fit perfectly.
Those pink color accents really pop. I like it!
Don't you fancy a tarp at all? Instead rely fully on the overcover?
Oh, girl, those coastal shots really wake some strong ocean desire in me....

Nice. You might want to include "The Breeze" from Mountain Wilderness Gear.
No problem. Just tried to help and share your work.
Also, please note that the remark about the Wikipedia entry was about a knot not in your booklet (the world famous Jbend) and it was a JOKE.
: )...
Another alternative is a poncho tarp. Like the one GoLite sells (or sold?).
Kind of a two in one deal. On the trail it serves you as protection for yourself and your pack.
In camp you can use it on...
Great job. Thanks!
Has anybody compared Membrane Silpoly (0.93 oz) to Membrane Silpoly PU4000 and can tell me how they both deal with medium or heavy rain? Does the lighter .93 stuff suffer from misting?
How does Membrane .93 Silpoly compare to Membrane PU4000 in heavy rain?
Any misting going on on the lighter .93 stuff?
If you want to add doors later on, have a look at the Grizz Beak.
Oh, that's not me who made this. That's our beloved Papa Smurf.
I don't have a fraction of his knowledge or wisdom, just passed the video along.
Most makers produce coated Dyneema, so that's not a problem at all.
Boating sites sell all sorts of Dyneema, so without a link it's hard to tell if yours is the right stuff. But if your site lists...
In addition to what hutzelbein said, especially her third point, watch this video about hang angles and tightness of the ridgeline:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TFeKvHNRukg
Doesn’t sound good to me.
Maybe this helps:

To those testing the Kevlar string: please also test for lost strength in direct sunlight.
Kevlar is prone to UV degradation. Dutch has found with his Kevlar tree straps, that they will lose up to...
To be honest, I haven't read the booklet. But we sure could create a Wikipedia entry.
