Okay, I made a diagram. See if this helps explain it better than my words...

Whaddya think?
Sort of, except I'm gonna put the stopper knot on a loop of bungie that I can lark's head onto my tarp. Also instead of using a whoopie type bury or whipping or whatever you're showing with the blue...
But gosh its' fun though.
Had another thought. What if the loop on the bury around the ridgeline had a nacrabiner type slip-loop on it. You could tie a lanyard knot (stopper knot) into a piece of...
Or you could still have the nacrabiner but you'd have to put a tie-loop close to the bury then leave enough slack so that the other end of the bury wasn't being released.
Gonna have to play with...
Ah ok. What if it didn't have the loop, (the continuous one all the way around) but instead had an eye splice on one end for tarp connection, so that the pull was only on one side?
I think you lost me a bit there. The bury would only be on a short loop of cord that could slide up or down the entire length of the ridgeline. it would slide up or down to move the connetion point...
Odds... yes that's what I was trying to say. well said.
Opie... I have that concern too. I'll have to make one and give it a try later. Even if it works it won't be as flexible as a standard...
Knotless prussic
After seeing all of these splicing creations, it occurred to me that you could make a knotless prussic type device pretty easily. The thought occurred to me on my drive in to...
