Then walk through the woods instead of the road:) I already packed mine so worse case I just leave it in the truck. They basically told me the same thing last year and I left mine home.
I prepared for something like a toilet mint to come out of a package.
I would have considered it but I am headed to Vancouver tonight and crashing there. Gotta get a few more Pulk things done. See ya up there.
No brains this year.. Weird had the last can and he is in Texas. now. Cant get it on the West coast. And for the record they really were not that bad.
They sound way worse than they are.
Why must you always name drop me?
yeah rain is a bit discouraging.. but hopefully during the evening the temps drop and solve that.
still most likely be enough snow on the ground for sleds
Today is a work on pulk parts day.. making some jigs to speed up fabrication of parts.
going to get all caught up by this weekend.
I know we had 3-4 kids last year.. Nutty was the oldest of them.

Usually Saturday evening around the fire.
I am heading to Kaytes the night before and we are meeting there to carpool up.. I'de say you could catch a ride with me but since i'm on the coast now i'm out of the way..
Coil and Zugkat may be...
Yeah I think Jackleberry, Sarah. kayte and I are headed down in the morning as well.. We moved to the site we used past two years because its the only one with a fire pit that can hold that large
I sold my UQ protector, but I use a zero degree Quilt.. Most people I know just add a pad when it gets really cold. And wear stuff like fleece to help out.
There is no way to tell you what will work...
It will help the TQ but since its only over you it wont help your UQ.. I always carry it when out snow camping it makes enough of a difference in comfort for me to make it worth it.
An UQ protector...
I have one I use with my UL Explorer and I have enjoyed it. I would say when snow camping it has added about 10 degrees and I personally have not had any real condensation issues.
It makes getting...
The hammocks get pretty spread out, there are plenty of trees for hammocks. We usually hang out at a particular site because it has the best fire pit for a large group.
Only fee is the sno-park...
Being that the main complaint about the site is the snowmobiles.. I don't think we need to add more motorized noise to the mix.. Just my opinion.
lots to do lots to do... Be in Portland next weekend hanging out and working on some winter gear.
Hope we see lots of old and new faces this year at the Hang!
There pretty good about keeping the roads plowed so they don't get really bad unless a large storm hits. With chains or other traction devices you wont have any issues.
The road into the campsite is...
It does appear that changes happened this year and they no longer except Washington Passes. So everyone from Washington will need an Oregon one.
I think you can also get them at REI.
A bit late but it really depends on how cold your area gets.. Many hangers out here go with 20 degree quilts and with very little effort get into the teens for temps. if your in an area that can get...
1: White elephant as many know it.. (there are other rules sometimes)
Everyone buys a gift costing no more than $20 that can be cool or just something silly to make people laugh. They are all put in...
Smaller makes fishing easier. Although we all dont have to go to the same spots I guess. I'm looking at options atm. My truck is in the shop so I have been more focused on that this week. Also price...
Im guessing legal but wouldn't be ideal for the terrain I think... Its not needed.
Hopefully my truck is all fixed by the time the hang comes around.. :cursing:
This particular site is a very maintained campground that just happens to be empty during the winter when under snow. There isnt much in the way of standing dead without hiking a good distance. And...
Its been frozen solid every year so far. Watch snow mobiles go across it and thats where we been sledding off the hill onto:)
Pretty sure its always been $20 max in past years.. But its not...
If you bring a stack of wood and don't have a pulk.. haul your gear in and we will organize pulks to carry the wood from the car.
If we do it December 5th-7th or December 19th-21st we can fish and for people that like clams you could run out to the beach and get your limits of them too..
Well I can hear the ocean from where I usually fish the rivers, and I fish the tides so not really sure that's inland:)
Did you just move here? says your from Texas:)
I said I think it costs me $150 in materials to make one.. If I was going to make more of these I would want to make a few not just one. It makes it...
I would need to go over current material costs to answer that correctly. The two I am finishing are a special situation.
But its drops the cost quite a bit if I order multiple sleds due to the...
No these are coming out of the Copalis about 10 miles south of there. The Silvers should be dying down soon and Steelhead should start showing up in local rivers. There is a couple clamming days...
And another... I love fishing
A taste of what you could see..
Caught this afternoon in under an hour
Just random thoughts at the moment but thinking of a "Hang" where we hang out at night and do the usual hang stuff but during the day we load up in trucks and hit all the local rivers and go after...
ordering online I end up ordering like 5.. would have been cool to have somewhere I could get just one without the shipping..
I guess I don't really need to make another stack of them.. finishing up...
if you get a chance find out if they still carry them and how much..:)
I think we have always had a potluck, maybe not a well organized one but a table full of food that everyone shared..
And Brains in Milk gravy:)
There is a few hangers in your area that I believe are planning to go.. Might set up a large carpool down.
This is my never miss hang.
Plan to come up during the winter for a Rainier trip! Always up for more winter hanging.

Welcome from another Washington guy
Im referbing my skeg design a little and will have Dawns, Jackleberrys and Rips skegs done shortly.
OK I have personally never seen one fail. Same as I have never seen a clean 4x4 post fail and have hung off many of them. Indoors I use the 2 stud method but I also make sure to hang in between the...
The extra holes are me trying to have the D ring facing the other way.. decided I didn't like it so I changed it.
