Redneck rafting.
Aside from Brandon's excellent customer service, the notion of a 1 year old strap failing like that is concerning. Brandon should do more testing on the straps and look at switching materials and/or...
That guy must have been loaded when he came up with that idea. Funniest stupid thing I've seen in a while.
I have both but prefer straps. I find the straps easier to setup, the weight difference is worth it IMO.
Following along...dates are free, I just don't know if it might be a little too ambitious for my first outing of the year.
I've used a double fisherman's knot and then heat sealed it with cable wrap. Can't pull lose afterwards.
I've never been cold in my RR using the NeoAir Xlite pad.
I'm old school, I keep all my food and toiletries in a dry bag and hang it a few hundred feet away from camp.
No, I just make and sell them as a hobby.
Welcome from Sac too.
I use Tyvke as well. I also re-enforced the corners so they can be staked down.
Enjoy, from inside by the fire.
I use glow in the dark beads.
Have you tried a bridge hammock? The flatter lay might be what you need.
These are the ones I like...

We're going to be building a steel patio cover at our home. There will be a span of 17' that I would like to have two anchor points welded on during fabrication. However, when I use the calculator it...
I use an old fishing pole I found.
I put my socks in my boots. For my pack I tuck my rain cover around it.
I also use the Mountainsmith Trekker poles for the same reasons as Paul. Great hiking poles and work perfectly as spreader bars with no mod needed.
I usually have everything ready in an hour or so.
Welcome aboard from Sac. I'm heading up to the Desolation Wilderness in a couple of weeks. Be mindful certain areas have limited trees.
Hopefully a lesson learned.
Welcome aboard, I'm right down 5 in Natomas.
Sweet, count me in.
A few years ago I owned a margarita machine rental business. We had customers sign a release of liability waiver that was written by an attorney. In the 9-years I owned the business we never had an...

I always hang my food away from camp. You never want to keep food and scented hygiene products near your camp site.
Paul, how much was it?
I've read lots of threads about people using arrows as toggles. Arrows are designed to fly straight, not have extreme forces placed on the shaft. I think things that have a strong shaft like a...
Definitely beefy, but I'm glad to see REI offering more hammock related products. When I was at my local store a couple weeks ago they had an entire hammock display at the front of the store.
Product weight, 1 lb. Enough said.
In a pinch it's a good solution.
I'd try and round the edges.
Check out Desolation Wilderness off Hwy. 50. I've got a trip planned up to Aloha Lake this summer.
Every business, no matter the size, wants to grow. They have to out of necessity, to stay in business. How they grow and to what extend is up to the owner. Some may want mass market success and some...
You can also try an inflatable pad, which helps flatten it out.
My first hammock was a Lawson too. I found using the tie-outs made it much more stable. I liked mine at about 20-25 degrees hang. I found it very comfortable. But weight and quality was the big down...
I use Mountainsmith hiking poles, which fit fine without any modification. I carry both the hammock poles and walking poles to use with my tarp in porch mode.
Try hanging the foot end a little higher.
I'm sure the delay is seasonal. I ordered mine after Christmas and had it less than a week later.
When I started out I used paracord and Figure 9's. However, I found the Figure 9's notches degraded the paracord. So I switched to the lighter Zing-It with Dutch Flyz. Not only is it lighter, the...
Any fabric store should have what you're looking for.
Another plus to using Lash-It is most of the Dutch bling will work with it.
I use a magnifying lamp with the small lines, which helps.
Really, why?
Two, a Ridgerunner as my primary hammock and a cheap Infinity Outdoors gathered end hammock for a quick nap here and there.
